Trebor Pena transferring to PSU

Here’s a prediction

Angeli will have more yards than Allar and all 3 of our starting receivers will have more yards than Pena (not cause Pena sucks but because Franklin sucks at offense, particularly the throw game)
And Allar would still be a round one pick because Penn State and Angeli would be a round five because Syracuse

I think if we can get a combination of two receivers in the portal we can surpass the production we would’ve gotten from Peña

Never hurts to get a top end portal wr but I feel we have a lot of depth at wr. They are young but seems very talented.
The big question is will we be able to get a couple more OL and will the unit gel. Without that no matter who is behind center will have difficulty.

Why do you think SU has to go to the portal?
I think we have enough already in the wide receiver room but the fact that Fran is bringing in multiple wide receivers let me know he’s not comfortable with what we have right now.

I’m sure part of it is also to get a reliable punt returner

Like I said if you are getting a player that projects to the next level, sure. But there’s not a crisis at wr

I think the 3 receivers they have brought in all project physically at the next level. It’s no different than Jackson Meeks coming in from Georgia with no production

Why did it have to be Penn St

Heard he’s getting about $500k at PSU. Probably a significant pay cut from what he was getting here
He left for a pay cut? Seems doubtful. Fran didn't push him out.

Fran didn’t want to push him out, he had to once it became clear that he couldn’t fulfill Peña’s new demands. Pena also didn’t intend to leave for a pay cut either compared to his original deal here. His recruitment definitely took longer than usual compared to someone who had the next destination and deal picked out, so I kind of wouldn’t be shocked if OP figures are accurate.

Man, I hope he isn't that stupid. If he demanded more money and then went in the portal without someone back channeling him a deal first, he's an idiot.

I'm no insider though, so if others insist that's what happened, I'll believe it. It just goes against all common sense that I assumed he and his camp would have.

That’s what happens when you get your career advice from a 24 year old former walk-on “agent”.

Woof. If the number is true, and AJ Calabro took 7.5% (average commission), that’s $460k.

Did Calabro negotiate the $800k deal that is the number we’ve heard he was getting at SU?

He should forgo his commission on the deal.

I think your math is a little off. 7.5% of $500,000 is $37,500 for the agent and $462,500 for what's his name.
