Trebor and his agent have eyes. They evaluated the scene (QB/OL) here and made a decision. Pretty clear he (Pena) did not think Collins was an asset. Probably the situation could have been handled better from both sides.

I do. I see bad negotiators and people getting bad advice all the time.

Isn’t his agent a friend of his, probably doesn’t have any experience and only gets a one time percentage payout so he wants to make the most in one shot.

I can see someone at PSU saying “he’s only making $600k? we could get him $900k”. So the agent tells Peña to tell Fran PSU offered $900k thinking Fran would match. Instead Fran told him to hit the bricks and took away any leverage Peña had. It was so late in the cycle PSU knew he had to take what they offered $300k.

Because he thought he was going to get an offer from Miami and or his agent misled him. Once Miami fell through and Syracuse closed the door he had no leverage.

That was a nice TD run. But Trebor, you went from the Holiday Bowl to a freezing Pinstripe Bowl (I guess I have to point out as opposed to no bowl to be fair). That TD run will help him take the big step to a possible NFL gig though.

Did it look correct week 4 when Angeli beat Clemson on the road and was leading the nation in passing yards while Trebor had <200 yards receiving through 4 games?

One injury put him in a better spot - had Angeli stayed healthy it would have been a horrible decision. This offense is designed for a player like Trebor and Angeli was far superior to any QB on PSU’s roster.
