So, I'm really curious about the rise of NCAA player agents.

I suspect they're... not the brightest, and fairly shady.

This roster has a bunch of guys who were “disloyal” to their former programs. Talking about “loyalty” feels pretty silly.

So we have a bunch of guys that were senior captains that left after spring ball to play here?

There are obvious circumstances here that would cause some different emotions. Acting like this is the same as any other transfer situation feels pretty silly.

Yup. Plus, we won 10 games almost entirely on the back of a guy who didn't "battle through adversity" and all that other stuff that middle age dudes like to tell 20 year olds to do.

I'm not saying its fair to the walk-ons... but it's the path HCFB chose to go down... a "practice squad" rule would need to be approved to go beyond 105... otherwise the walk-ons are gone

The current "system" just can't make anyone happy. If there's anyone out there who thinks it's reasonable or sustainable I'd like to hear their logic. I'll always root for SU, but will never follow big time college sports or support them with $$. I'd rather see the system crash and burn and just create a semi pro system that is loosely affiliated with universities in name only. That would probably never work, but from a player's perspective that's what we currently have.

Yea that's the sting. Hard lesson to learn but also he's a 40 year old coach.

End of day the priorities and thoughts that go threw the brain of a 16 yr old or 20 or 23 year old are very different.

I call BS for anyone that says they didn't make any crazy decisions in their early 20's.

You should be able to trust someone to abide by the agreements they made.

IF Treb wanted to explore his portal options, he shoulda done that sometime looooong before accepting the Captaincy, and completing all of Spring ball.

As Fran says - there’s a right way to do these things.
And a wrong way.

Peña chose the wrong way.

FFFF him. He’s dead to me now.
And I’m sure to Fran too.
And likely a number of his (former) teammates.

I hope he has a crappy season and regrets his decision every day for the rest of his life.

But other than that - good luck, kid.

I dont disagree with Pugh here at all...but the time to do this hard negotiating IMO was back in December. And we were told by Pena himself that we did enough.

Sucks that just a few months later he decided it wasnt.

I dont hate him for trying to get more $$$, I hate the way he is going about it.
