Shot of the game. Down 5, stopped their run, calmed the crowd down and increased the "game pressure" (favorite Bilas term) on UL. It was a really tough shot over Dieng too. We don't win without it, and he had the onions to take it.

I really liked how aggressive Triche was tonight. Many of them didn't go, but he was taking quality shots and forcing the action. He also was probably robbed of at least 2 trips to the foul line. I also liked how JB left him in during the crunch. Shows Triche/Jardine that neither is being "Boeheimed".

I still think Triche is our best jumpshooter. JB is gonna sit him but we won't go far in March without him scoring 10+ppg

But he's weak-minded, plays with no emotion and sucks as a player. Or so I've heard.

This is why I said we don't win an NC with Scoop as the primary point guard. He has to many What games. He's not as good as the other 3 guards and shouldn't play as much as he does. Next years backcourt wil be the best in SU history

Agree, he was aggressive on the offensive end and kept at it even though his shot wasn't falling. And yes, it looked like he was mugged several times and didn't get the call. Plus, I thought he played very well defensively, as usual.

He got hit across the arms on 1 shot and took a hand across the nose and eyes on another. I didn't see it but he claimed he also got hit on the 2nd 3 he took.

Triche will come up big as long as he is aggressive and feels it...when he defers to others he loses his ability to take over and to pace the game in his persona...good game for Triche...so now we know, JB is not playing favorites..he is playing who he believes will bring home the bacon on any given night

I wish he had the ball in his hands more especially late in the game. I have a lot more confidence in him down the stretch then Dion.

Glad to see him in there at crunch time. Frankly I trust him more than any of the other guards.

Sorry but Triche is far > Scoop it's not even close. Have no idea what JB is thinking to even consider playing Scoop over him on a consistent basis

Come on, man. There are some games when Triche is our guy, others when Waiters is our guy, others when Scoop is our guy. Let's not make generalizations using 1-game sample sizes. Have you already forgotten the HUGE threes Scoop made late against Cincy and UConn? And there was a recent 5-6 game stretch where Scoop had an extremely strong assist/turnover ratio.

I thought Triche got abused with no call's on most if his plays but had three baskets where he simply refused to be denied! All big plays.

I'd also say that Dion should have shot about 8 Ft's but what do I know, perhaps if he jump stop/ball faked and then continued to move around and play he would have gotten more calls. Siva and R. Smith traveled no less than 20 times between them which probably had something to do with 40pts for Lville and no calls.

Wow, this is just a stupid reactionary post.

All 3 guards are pretty similar. JB plays the hot hand, but has shown he prefers Scoop and Waiters at the end of the game because he feels they are the best ballhandlers. I am glad JB kept Triche in over Scoop at the end of this game b/c Triche was playing better. It is that simple.

And btw, for those who think MCW is better then Scoop right now, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

Funny how people praise Triche for being aggressive for a 4-11 night and would be the first people to rip Scoop for shooting 4 of 11.

I hate fans with agendas.

As much as JB likes disciplined controlled play - he also really values the creative flair a player like Scoop brings to the table. He sees a need for both styles and he can select between them with Triche and Scoop/Dion. Nothing wrong with that.

Yes, good game for BT and happy to see him part of the winning combination at the end. Didn't hit any 3s, yet he was scrappy and made good moves into the paint. It isn't whether Dion or Scoop is better -- we have 3 good veteran guards, and we are going to need all 3. Tonight was a good one for BT along with Fair & Melo. Next time, it could be KJ and the other two guards.

I was worried with the title of this thread it was going to be a tweet and I was going to need a barf bag.

Now that I read the thread-that's some big marbles to take and make the shot. Big props to him.

Replay showed it was pretty close to being blocked. BT had to change trajectory, it was the clutch shot of the game.

Triche has looked frustrated about his playing time and hopefully this is a sign that he is going to do something about it

and people wonder why I made the 'anointed' thread I did...
Oh Lord

triche had himself a really rough first half. kudos to JB for having the confidence in brandon to go back to him when scoop struggled. like i said below, nice to have some options. and for crissakes dion have the sense to give brandon the ball for the final fts! couldda put this game away.

We might not win the NC this year, but we wouldn't even be in the argument without Scoop Jardine. We need all three of our guards to play well to win this year. The fact that some fans are so quick to align themselves with one or two of the three guys is sort of ridiculous.

He made up for his really weak start to the game. Those 2 early three's he threw up there were really tentative looking.

There is no reason for this kid to not always play with confidence. He's logged a lot of mins in short shorts now. Upperclassman... time for Triche to put his mark on this team.
