Freeman, Souare, and George should all announce for the portal soon. Not sure about Fennell, though I don’t see much playing time for him on the horizon if Doty comes and we want to bring in other guards. Hopefully, he will be patient and wait for his turn to come.

Fennell has the size and probably the ability with proper fundamentals which the Australian players get to play 3 positions. Both guard spots and small forward. His international play showed he can shoot , pass, and penetrate. He is just the type of player, it seems Gerry would want a bigger version of himself.

Counterpoint: he was a big / strong kid, but wasn't much of a rebounder, didn't score inside, wasn't particularly athletic, was a minus-defender, and was essentially just a stationary jump shooter.

He was a pretty GOOD shooter, who could get streaky hot -- but still pretty one-dimensional.

Not really a surprise. I loved his shooting ability and his mid-range game, but his inconsistent effort on D was not going to mesh with GMac’s style. Hope he finds the best landing spot where he can develop himself.

He had a few moments where he got run off the 3 line and made a dribble or two to take an 18’ jumper. Thought he could keep growing that facet while beginning to start to attempt to defend.

Tough call. His defense somehow got worse every game. He's got great potential for certain.

I think this is good sign going forward for the type of players we can expect to see added to the roster.

For sure, hence developmental piece. If he learns how to use that strong body of his to better effect, he could be really good.

Agreed. I think Doty and Anthony should be the 6th and 7th man. Though I have kinda accepted the fact that Doty will start.
