Tyler Rouse

Anybody who says they haven't taken a look are either lying or not that close to the program. Of course they've taken a look. They have and even if I didn't know they had, Marrone would not insult Sanfilippo by not giving the kid the courtesy of consideration. What they also do is give honest evaluations of local kids to let them know where they think they are at.

Every D-1 program in NY and surrounding states has looked at him.

Doesn't mean it's going to go beyond that though.

As for the Hart comparison, two very different styles.

So in your opinion, what has kept these schools on the sideline when I ones to TR?

Hart was maybe the best RB I have ever seen at cutting sideway to avoid someone. He was a genius at making people miss. Rouse is a north south runner. Limited ability to cut. Like Go says, very different styles. I wish Tyler the best and hope he gets a full ride at a D1 school.

Tyler Rouse the 5-8 dynamite running back from Baldwinsville NY just got a major boost thanks to Sports Illustrated. Tyler was featured in "Faces in the Crowd" where it stated that he leads the nation in touchdowns scored with 44 and his 2,766 yards rushing is second in America.

The running back he most compares with is Mike Hart who ended his career at Michigan as it's all-time rushing leader.

The two backs have several things in common, both are 5-8 and are (were) overlooked because of that.

Another thing is how good they are (were) in the classroom. Rouse sports a 92 average Hart's average was in the 90's.

Both Rouse & Hart were taken out early in the 3rd or 4th quarter in games that were already decided, otherwise their numbers would have been much larger.

Three things that Rouse has over Hart:

1. 4.46 speed vs 4.6

2. Strength

3. Tyler gained all of his yards against Class AA competition, Hart against Class D

A little birdie told me that some major colleges will soon be checking him out.

He may go from no offers and interest from only D1AA to something big.

Stay tuned.

Hart likely wasn't coming here anyway but any chance SU had was gone when the twins only wanted to recruit him as a DB.

The first time this was posted I had some small doubt as to the sincerity of your hope that Tyler gets a full ride. By the fifth post all such doubts were gone. By the tenth I was beginning to wonder if you weren't sabotaging your post/like ratio irreparably.

If not Hart, who would you compare him to? Sounds a lot like David Zapata at Hornell a few years back, who a few wanted to take a flyer on.

Would be great to get a Sproles-type player in this offense.

There are others ways to get your post count up, Tom...

More than that, there is honor and, dare I say, a certain sense of sophistication for those of us who consciously choose to remain under 1k.

I was hoping tomcat would chime in here, but alas, he's apparently not interested

No doubt it was the ginger ale.

You can say that again.

The latest article on the kid said this. Hardly D-1 interest. This was from like 3 days ago

"I have had a couple schools that looked at me, but none offered. Temple, Bucknell, Holy Cross, and Albany contacted me."

I can't believe no one's mentioned Hart's sideways cutting skills.

Knowing and interest are two different things.

Kid should leverage it to the hilt, a lot of excellent schools in 1-AA.

If his lateral quickness improves, he would be well-worth a schollie. Watching him for the first time now on the www.twcs.tv/sportstream. Impressive for sure.

I don't understand how this kid is so under the radar, has awesome numbers in AA, and plays unbelievable defense, punts the ball, just incredible athlete, yet not even in discussion top 150 RB in nation

Tomcat is at the Rouse game right now. So I expect this thread count to go from 32 to 52 in a couple hours

Looking forward to reading his opinion opinion opinion opinion opinion opinion opinion opinion opinion opinion.

I count nine identical posts by Sutomcat, all posted at 6:58AM. I suspect a bit of a glitch.

By the way, I love how quickly Rouse hits the hole.

I wonder what he thought of Kirby Dar Dar Dar Dar Dar Dar Dar Dar Dar.

The biggest deterrent from what I have heard on Rouse is he has suffered several concussions in his time at B'Ville playing both football and hockey earlier in his high school career. He gave up hockey the last two years to prevent more head injuries and focus on football.
