Especially since his violation consisted of going to class.work that waiver wire, doug
Joe Schad says he wants to play this year. That would mean he's headed to an FCS school.

That's an excellent question. College football reporters that know far better than me keep hinting at him going FCS. We'll see. That's an interesting thought. Because it's the NCAA, I'd imagine he has to sit out regardless. I have no idea, though. If you are kicked off of your team -- had your scholarship rescinded -- why would a player have to sit out a year? It wasn't his decision to leave. The school/coach made the decision, and he had no choice (in theory). Don't know what his "team violation" was, but it seems to me that that is his next team's problem. I don't understand the 1-year rule in a case like this.

That must have been a one of a kind rulebreaking, if it resulted in the dismissal of the headline player at a place like LSU. I don't even want to know how bad it was.
If that was the case you would see a lot of players pulling a "Costanza" to get kicked off their teams and play somewhere else right away.
Last year Jordan Jefferson kicked a Marine in a head in a bar.
OF course, those charges got dropped, so it may never have happened in the first place.

I do not even want him here. He is an incredible talent but we just went through something similar with Phil Thomas. Let the young athletic DBs play imo.
