Tyrann Mathieu kicked off of the LSU Football Team

Joe Schad says he wants to play this year. That would mean he's headed to an FCS school.

Wonder if he ends up at Alabama State with Isaiah Crowell? Would make them a formidable FCS team.

Miles says he wants to play NEXT year. It's too late for him to get into an FCS program now probably. Miles said that he wants to play immediately where he goes next, which means more than likely, out of the SEC.

Get him to Syracuse.

If you are kicked off of your team -- had your scholarship rescinded -- why would a player have to sit out a year? It wasn't his decision to leave. The school/coach made the decision, and he had no choice (in theory). Don't know what his "team violation" was, but it seems to me that that is his next team's problem. I don't understand the 1-year rule in a case like this.

That's an excellent question. College football reporters that know far better than me keep hinting at him going FCS. We'll see. That's an interesting thought. Because it's the NCAA, I'd imagine he has to sit out regardless. I have no idea, though.

Still have to sit out a year.

See: Isaiah Crowell going to Alabama State

I assume you're being facetious.
A player booted for violating team rules doesn't exactly fit the Marrone character profile, especially in light of his recent comments (regarding potential PSU transfers) about being reluctant to mess with team chemistry.

Personally, I'm excited to see some of the young DB talent we recruited develop.

That must have been a one of a kind rulebreaking, if it resulted in the dismissal of the headline player at a place like LSU. I don't even want to know how bad it was.

If that was the case you would see a lot of players pulling a "Costanza" to get kicked off their teams and play somewhere else right away.

If he got kicked off an SEC team there is 0% chance he would be accepted to Syracuse

@BFeldmanCBS
If Tyrann Mathieu became ineligible bc of a 3rd failed drug test, he will not be able to play this yr at another NCAA school.

Last year Jordan Jefferson kicked a Marine in a head in a bar.

OF course, those charges got dropped, so it may never have happened in the first place.

LOL. Yeah, that's probably true too.

In fairness the Marine and his buddies started the fight and then got the living daylights beat out of them. I think that's why they ended up dropping it

I'm all for Doug upgrading talent, but I think Syracuse is way down the list of schools this kid wants to go. Think of the scene in Beetlejuice when he gets the really bad number while waiting in line.

I do not even want him here. He is an incredible talent but we just went through something similar with Phil Thomas. Let the young athletic DBs play imo.

Dude...what? Tyrann with no arms> Phil T
Idc what he's done, kid is a legit star and if syracuse reeled him in I'd dance the Macarena naked around Marshall street.

A tip of the hat to Les Miles. I'm not so sure the LSU faithful feel the same way, and Les should be applauded loudly and clearly by everyone around the country for that very reason. He just cut a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, a certain NFL corner on an LSU team with surprisingly little experienced depth at the corner position, and a phenomenal punt returner who routinely changes games with his punt returns. That kind of talent and experience cannot be replaced. I suspect many people who picked LSU pre-season number 1 are less committed to that selection now that the Honey Badger is gone.

3rd failed drug test. Nothing Miles could have done if he wanted to. It's an NCAA test.
