I think UConn is better than some here do, but the idea that Giffey + Olander + Lamb + Napier + Oriakhi = all of them and Kemba is ridiculous. As we saw last year with Joseph, it's a hell of a lot easier to look like an All-American when you're the 3rd or 4th option and the defense has to key in on Wes Johnson. Lamb is learning that now but Napier has to do a better job getting him the ball.

With UConn I'm really concerned that we're going to get bent over on the boards. Hopefully the zone annoys the hell out of Napier and he continues to be a turn over machine.

I like it. It's fun getting a different perspective. But zls isn't trolling and some of their other posters aren't trolling.

I do get annoyed when I see our fans start flaming other sites so I get what you're saying.

Had Uconn played a team with two solid defensive guards past the round of 32 they would have lost.

Kemba and Lamb were their whole offense.
Give them MU like we got and they would have been toast. Uconn didn't even have a scoring trifecta last year. Theres one reason they finished 9th in the BE. They were the true cindarella story not butler and VCU.

Gtown and Nova were missing their lead guards come the BET or Uconn never would have won and got more then 5 seed.

Christmas will be fine. The issue with developing players is that rotations tend to shrink rather than expand this time of year. But if you're up 25 in half your conference games, he will get plenty of minutes.

UConn has a plethora of issues at the moment and we're sitting pretty 20-0 basically without being challenged. What is exactly the point of their fans being here talking ?

EDIT: Fun fact, UConn is now 20-23 in Big East Regular Season play since Brandon Triche was a freshman (for a frame reference). Syracuse is 34-9.

Nah we wanted UC to win. We want UConn to lose as much as possible, since they are probably our biggest challenge for the BE reg. season title. If we beat ND on Saturday (and UC loses to WVU), a win over UC on Monday would give us a 2 game lead (essentially 2.5) anyway on them.

I am willing to forgive UConn fans for their transgressions. I really am. All they have to do is the following:
1. start a bonfire in their backyard. throw all UConn gear, memorabilia, Jim Calhoun books, VCR tapes of games, etc. into fire.
2. officially renounce UConn to friends and family. Appear contrite. apologize profusely, cry for forgiveness.
3. cut all ties with other UConn fans, including familiy members.
4. apply for membership in Cuse nation, terms of which are: 10 year probation period during which you cannot wear orange or attend games at dome. donate 10% of income during probation to charity in name of Jim B. Get to know a Cuse fan in your town and perform chores for him/her during weekend. one three month mission in CT during which you go door to door preaching the Orange cause.

None of this will bring back the rings that UConn stole from us, but I believe in redemption. is the price high? what price do you put on your soul?

If you want to understand the history of BE basketball and the dychotomy of JC and JB, watch the movie "No Country for Old Men". JB is the Tommy Lee Jones characther. An upstanding, play by the rules sort. He thought he undertood evil. But he never reckoned he'd see what was coming down the pike. Calhoun is the guy with the funny haircut. Can you image being a recruit and saying no to that guy? This new unholy manifestation of evil set us back temporariry. But there is a new chapter, and it starts now.

What good are regular season records if you don't finish them off with strong showings in the tourny. I hate Yukon, but...I'm not sure we should be trying to "match resumes" with them in recent history.

UCONN did not play Nova in last year's BET.

You have a point about GU. They were without Chris Wright. Though I'm not sure how much of a difference he would have made in that UConn BET blowout. UConn had already beaten GU with Wright a month earlier. Still, beating stacked and healthy teams like PITT, SU and L-ville over 3 days took away any real doubt about what that young team could accomplish once they got rolling later in the season.
