Sure but when have we looked really good?? Rarely. like I said in an earlier post, we win ugly, people need to understand it, deal with it, take the 8th win knowing this is a flawed roster with a new head coach and staff and move on to Miami.

I don't think it's a flawed roster. I think it's a relatively talented one for us.

I just hope Pena is ok, Hatcher looks done which also very much sucks, but not having Pena will make the next game harder.

We won. That’s a great thing.

We won our 8th game of the season. That’s a great thing for our first year staff.

Lots and lots to quibble about, but it’s those two things that matter most.

D wasn't really that bad lots of throws into tight windows their WRs made plays and they're a good running team. Just sucks that like all the other big wins it got close late.

I can’t believe Peña had not one but TWO TD’s get taken off the board.

Now, the first one - Meeks was waaaay too obvious w the pick.
WR needs to act like he’s “accidentally” crossing and bumping into the DB -
Not get down into a blocking stance.

But the whole “that trick play was toooo tricky!”

Should say offense is historic and it's been a good almost great season. Winning on the road against good teams shows the make up of team and what Brown is about. That means continued success is the future.

Agree. We have only won ugly for many many years in my opinion. I know I’m forgetting some but that’s been the norm for a long long time. Gritting teeth the whole time

8-3 hats off to a first year coaching staff ! The head coach and both coordinators had no experience. Really an amazing accomplishment !

Maybe because Pena got injured and Gadsden was banged up. It’s the only thing I can think of.

At QB and WR? Hell yes. Do you think we are talented on the Oline, DLine, which are the most crucial positions on a team along with QB? I don’t. Our LBs are pretty talented but not fast. Our DBs look good on paper only. I get the aggravation this team causes, I do. I also am not enamored with EROB at all and would much prefer a new D coordinator next year. But 8-3 with a first time head coach, no matter how ugly the sausage looks when it is being made, is damn good. And we have some good wins, this isn’t last year where we got to a bowl beating 5 stiffs and a 6-6 Army.

We beat another bowl eligible team. It’s hard to be too upset, but I’m sure most of this forum will find a way.

My anticipation is to beat UConn by 17 points. Even thirteen points would be an disappointment. Seven points is not acceptable. I got three disappointments three days in a roll. Tough to be a SU fan.

Why do we slow down after half like we are barely trying to win. Kills me. We shoulda won that game bye 3 to 4 touchdowns. We were way better and why not run Willis a bit. Looked like allen was playing g peakaboo

Tackling remains a concern but the D had four 3 and outs. 3 drives where they only had 1 first down (excluding the early TD run). They did get 3 on one of those because of the starting field position.

It’s not a great D, but good enough for this offense (which did leave a few points on the field).

Hopefully this was a wakeup call before Miami. Tough timing coming back from Cal and just before the biggest game of the year.
