UConn postgame

If we are being honest, the sprints immediately following a win while the crowd was still there (instead of at practice) was probably disrespectful to the opponent. Sprints were definitely called for, but the D in DART for “discipline” should probably also cover “class”.

Now, we can all say that since it was UConn it was funny. Still, considering we were out coached for most and maybe all the game, our coaches should have been the ones doing sprints. That’s the ACCOUNTABLE in DART.
Did you see Fran's explanation? (I posted it in this thread in post #231)

Let’s keep in mind everyone (including myself) have a lot of things we think are big issues. We did last year also after the Pitt and Stanford game. Just because we played this way today doesn’t mean we will every game. It’s sports, games like this happen for no identifiable reason sometimes.

Clemson down 10-0 to Troy in 2Q. And it’s not a fluke…Troy is outplaying them on both sides of the ball.

A lot of sloppy play in week 2.
Came here to ask the same. I just saw the score. Guess I’ll have to throw the 2nd half and see if Dabo gets them going.

Finally setting Reese on the edge and having him use his speed and quickness to rush most plays is the start of our D getting better. What bothers me is it took Fran to point it out to ER during the week. Fran said so in his presser. I do expect the D to get better as the year moves along. We are a YOUNG team. Our margins are smaller than last year.. Hoping to get to 6W's..could be 4 or 5 though. It appears the culture Fran is setting is paying off as we have come from behind a bunch since he was hired.

Is the Robinson hate in here just an automatic reaction?

Thought Defense was the best phase of the game for us today.
The defensive result was okay, especially in the second half. But I still saw bad angles, missed tackles, and defensive alignments that didn’t put our players in a position to succeed.

Our D results were okay for 2 reasons. One, UConn played to protect the lead and didn’t push the ball down the field in the second half. Two, our players are a lot bigger and faster than theirs. That makes it easier to chase a guy down from behind after you’ve taken a bad angle. Some of UConn’s long gains would have been either longer, or a score, if we were playing an ACC team.

After the game, three guys with Angelli jerseys go flying by me in the west end zone. It’s was Steve’s brothers. They were so happy for him. They said he will never get rattled and will stay calm. His mom was crying, so I gave her a big hug. They were really enjoying the moment. Really happy for them. He showed a lot in the final seven minutes of this game. This should really help them moving forward.

If someone hadn't seen the game, 33/53 (62%) for 417 yds would seem pretty good.
Yup. Of course we should all know that in this day and age of football QB stats don’t reflect how a QB actually plays

The “D” in DART stands for “Detailed”.

Yeah, that was quite the comment in the postgame presser. Something to the effect of he asked Coach Robinson during the game, "What did we bring David Reese here to do?" It worked, but probably should have been obvious before now.

Not sold on Angeli. He delivers the ball late too much. Lots to clean up. But at least we got the W.
The second half today was the first time I’ve been able to watch us this season. So I’ll cop to my opinion being wrong if last week disproves it. But I don’t like the way he throws. Most everything seems soft and floating.

I’m very glad we won. I’m not convinced he’s a good QB.

For sure, they must be feeling amazing that Fran did not give up on their son. Most coaches would. We really have a special man in charge. You want to rock with a coach like Fran, I hope he continues to get everyone on the same page of the operation of the systems in place.

I took it a different way. Reporter asked if we’re going to play him all downs vs just passing situations. He referenced the convo as a way of saying, we brought him here to rush the passer and that’s what he’s best at so we’re going to do that.

That should be a red flag that he has to tell basics to his DC

Why didn’t we run more clock on first and goal with 50 seconds left and a timeout left? Would have left UConn with no time.
Totally agree here. Coaching blunder by Fran that he should’ve been asked about. I’d have to go back, but I’m pretty sure there were about 30 seconds on the play clock when we snapped the ball on the Yasin TD
