I know some of you are going to talk up UConn as an opponent because it’s supposed to be a rivalry and it’s their Super Bowl, but we should win this game by at least ten and will be 4-5 point favorites.

Their McDonald’s All American from last year is probably out and is damaged goods from hurting his shoulder in that game so we really only have to worry about a couple of players in Adams and Laurier.

They also are an incredibly small team and have one of the worst two point percentages of any team in the country. We should dominate the paint and the glass. The last couple of games where they barely beat Columbia and Monmouth shows you they are closer to being a tomato can than being a power 5 team. Talk this up to being a rivalry all you want, but this is a take care of business game if we want to keep building for the future.

Agreed 100% but it is Yukon.

We played UConn's JV team last year and lost, so who knows what Tuesday night will bring. :)

We were such a bad team at this point last season though.

Weren’t we still trying to play White at the 2 at this point? Howard was struggling, Gillon was not a factor, Battle was hobbled and was basically a spot up shooter.

We would’ve beaten them by 15-20 pts in January or February, IMO.

This years team has looked much better at this point in the season than last year. Much better guard play, much better defense, and more clearly defined roles for everybody.

agree but we also have to be aware of Vital as well - he's actually played really well their last few games

Against Oregon, Arkansas and Michigan State Vital is 1/16 from the field and 0/7 from 3. He is still their best 3pt shooter but he's struggled against P5 teams.

I think our entire frontline will have big games - even if only in rebounds and 2nd chance points - their "bigs" (tallest being 6'8 I believe) are slow and soft

Let's hold them to under 40 points and beat them by 20+. Our defense is elite, and their offense is weak.
Agreed. The D is elite when firing. Kansas was avg 94 pt/game and were held basically 20 points under that. thats great D. our O was the issue. I like this teams fight WAAAAAAAAAY more than last years.

From the Boneyard in response to EastCoast2;

"You know what's great about guys like you and your little cronies on syracusefan. While you play in the ACC, have some talent this year and some talent coming in next year, deep down all of you know that you don't stand a chance to ever win a NC. On the other hand, regardless of Tuesday night's results, UConn fans, even the ones who feel Ollie sucks and the program is in shambles, know deep down that we'll always have a shot at winning another NC (our 5th ;)) as long as UConn is on our players' chest and we have a star guard that can win ball games"

Yesterday was almost a case of playing with house money. Loss didn't hurt much and gave us a chance to see how we measured up against one of this year's elite teams (And when they get Billy Preston back.... - right, Dickie V!) Tuesday is the kind of "bad loss" game we need to avoid if we have hopes of sneaking into the tournament this year. UConn, Georgetown and Bonnies are critical.

They’re desperate, and reaching for whatever will make them feel better.
Their slow, steady, inevitable demise is what makes this such a pleasure to watch.
Die, you dirty dogs...Die!

also of note - sounds like Alterique Gilbert will not be playing and is likely out for season

This comes down to one question...

Would you rather have 4 titles and be nearly irrelevant, in non P5 conference, now and heading into the future OR would you rather have 1 title and be perennially relevant in the premier conference in the country. Its tough seeing uconn with 4 titles... but I'm glad I root for Cuse

You know what that means..

Rivalry games can be a btich. This is their Super Bowl. They’ll be ready.

Lol you literally repeated exactly what I knew people were going to say in my OP. This is a mid major talent level team we are playing.
