This could really happen. I think Uconn wins. I would laugh my ass off if it happened.

I wouldn't. UConn looked good last night (I know it was DePaul). But if they beat UK in the tourney that means they are playing really, really well. I don't want them to sniff another Final Four for a while..
EDIT: Although it would be nice to see iether UK or UConn not make it to the 2nd weekend.

Putting my hatred for Uconn aside I would be cheering like hell for them to knock off Kentucky if they played.

Wouldn't UConn need to make the tournament for that to happen? That aint happening

Well I'm from CT, surrounded by huge UConn fans (including my Dad). I can't bear to watch them have any success in the NCAA's this year.

I can't see UConn winning 4 games in the NCAAT. Then again, I couldn't see it last year either at this same date.

They've been notorious for pulling NCAA runs out of their a** despite not having great regular season success; we've been the opposite.

This our time. UConn.

UConn is a bubble team right now. If they don't do well in the BE tournament, it will be curtains for them.

You do realize UConn has 5 games left before the BET. So a minimum of 6 games left. They go 4-2 or better and they are in, 4-3 or 3-3 is bubble, 2-4 or worse is outside the bubble, IMO.

It's a really weak year in college basketball, depth wise and with the expansion to 68 teams if the NCAAT started today, UConn would be well within the bubble, though probably a 8-10 seed.

BTW, wouldn't mind seeing UK this year

That's like Al-Qaeda vs. Taliban for me. I don't even know what I'd do. The thought of Kentucky getting bounced would be an incredible break for our national title chances, but the thought of UConn replicating what they did last year literally makes me want to throw up.

Aside from last year they haven't. But it is our time, and them is a sentiment we should all have.

Uconn isn't beating Kentucky in march. Uconn has had trouble scoring 60 points in most games. They're not beating the best defensive team in the country

Aside from last year, what do you consider "pulling a run out of their a**"? I do agree last year was, though they went in hot.

UConn more or less plays to it's seed or underperfomered, aside from last year:

Since 1990, they have played to seed 6 times and missed the Tournament 5 times. They have played above their seeding four times and below their seeding six times. They have only played far above their seeding twice* and have played far below their seeding three times (+/- 2 games compared to chalk). 1991 is really the only year (1990-2011) they did much better than expected and in that they beat a 6 seed and 14 seed.

*I don't consider 2004 pulling a run out of their a**, considering they were preseason favorites and Okafor missed a few games with injury before being healthy for the NCAAT.

1990 UConn was a 1 seed and lost in the elite 8 (-1 game)
1991 UConn was an 11 seed and lost in the sweet 16 (+2 games)
1992 UConn was a 9 seed and lost in the second round (+1 game)
1993 No Tournament
1994 2 seed, lost in the sweet 16 (-1 game)
1995 2 seed lost in the elite 8 (to the 1 seed)
1996 1 seed lost in the sweet 16 (-2 games)
1997 No Tournament
1998 2 seed who lost to the 1 seed in the elite 8
1999 the top or second 1 seed and a great team
2000 5 seed that lost to the 4 seed in the second round
2001 No Tournament
2002 2 seed that lost to a 1 seed (elite 8)
2003 5 seed lost to the 1 seed in the sweet 16 (+1 game)
2004 2 seed and NC (+2 games)
2005 2 seed lost in second round (-2 games)
2006 1 seed lost in the elite 8 (-1 game)
2007 Not Tournament
2008 4 seed, first round loss (-2 games)
2009 1 seed, Final Four
2010 No Tournament
2011 3 seed, NC (+3 games)

You think wrong. If UConn is the 8/9 seed, that means they have stumbled/bumbled their way into the tournament, and UK kicks their ass.
If Uconn plays up to their capabilities at the end of the year and in the BE Tourney, they go in as a 6 seed or so, and then I say watch out rest of field.
