Spent the evening at trivia night at my local brewery. Looks like a hard fought, close loss.

it was a trainwreck

I’m surprised you guys even watch anymore.

I was pretty excited to see there was a game on the tube out here. But then ...

Don’t be fooled by the comeback. I’m glad the kids played as hard as they could, but this was another debacle.
-this whole thing with Donnie is a complete joke. We’re the only program that would decide that our best scorer and rebounder is the problem. Somehow the matchups were not good against Notre Dame, but they were good against North Carolina?
-Donnie is far from perfect. His defense needs work, he needs to be tougher with the ball and he holds the ball too long. But he is a sophomore who barely played as a freshman due to injury. These things will improve with the correct coaching, guidance and experience. To screw around with our best player is just an embarrassment for the program. I have no idea why he was taken out of the game two minutes into the second half.
-the way Kingz is used as absurd. We finally ran two plays for him at the end of the game and who knew it would be easier for him to score when he had an open look?
-Kiyan is essentially a human tax when he comes in. We know we are going to have to pay for three missed shots, the ball stopping on offense and poor defense. Again, he is a freshman and he will get better but he is not ready yet we let him make the same mistakes for the same amount of time over and over.
-this thing got out of hand in large part because our guards simply cannot stay in front of anyone.
-frankly the only good thing that came out of tonight is that some of our most loyal fans who gamble made some undeserved money.

Why was he taken out with 3 minutes left in first half when only down 5????

Just as bad as Kiyan not seeing Freeman underneath. We lack the IQ to be good.

That was horrific. He even had a second option for an open 3 wide open on the other side. lol

If you cant out talent the opposition, you have to out scheme them. Unfortunately that requires a level of coaching that we don’t have.

JJ's last 2 possessions were typical JJ. Don't pass and don't score.

-A couple of things I don't understand: taking Freeman out with 2 minutes left in the first half when he was the only one giving you offense the entire half, and then you give up a quick 6-0 run with him off the court.
-Then, to start the second half, he pulled Freeman after like 2 minutes again, and UNC went on another run.
-Then in the first like 8 minutes of the second half, when UNC extended to the massive lead, Freeman had 2 shots at the basket in 8 minutes and wasn't getting the ball...

Like, after your star player has a first half like that, where he proved he can compete with Wilson, how do you not go to him? Especially as you just watch UNC pile on the lead while other players are just chucking up shots?? Like what is going through the coach's mind? I just don't understand why you wouldn't feed the hot hand???

Same thing at the end of the game Kingz 3 bang Kingz 3 bang time out JJ drive and throw stuff up JJ drive and throw stuff up JJ drive and throw stuff up the next three times down the court Like does our coach not pay attention to what is going on in the game??? I truely dont understand.

Turned it off right after half time with the big run early in the second half. Did hear Jay Williams say that Syracuse “was” one of the true Blue Bloods in College Basketball. Said they’ll be back - but not with the current coaching regime.
