I don't know if you're joking but I think that's actually a brilliant idea. Great protest to JW and the BOT. Get the whole Dome wearing them.We should make SMFH t-shirts.

Everyone knows what is coming. We have to embarrass one of our legends on the way out the door?I don't know if you're joking but I think that's actually a brilliant idea. Great protest to JW and the BOT. Get the whole Dome wearing them.
JB always had that competitive temperament. In the BE, the Nation's top recruits usually had the Cuse on their short list. More than we like to admit, a large part of our attractiveness was our rivalries. In addition, the BE had a reputation of rugged urban playground ball. Everyone knew about Ruckers. This was our image and it attracted urban legends like Pearl. The ACC killed our ability to recruit. Not JB's fault. It was the way the dice fell, football rules.
Fair point. I've spent so many years feeling like SU leadership was failing to save the program and just wanted to collect checks and didn't really care about the downfall, that sometimes I forget we're now at the point where it's inevitable they actually address it. I do hope they understand they're on the verge of losing the fanbase forever and make the best hire available in order to compete for championships, not just tournament appearances.Everyone knows what is coming. We have to embarrass one of our legends on the way out the door?
Our brand disappeared in the ACC.Eh the conference is meaningless by and large. Recruits are picking coaches, brands and $$$
Of course we never got everyone we wanted, but our batting percentage collapsed. Facts speak for themselves. It was all very predictable and I shouted it to the rooftops. Many posters mistakenly assumed that the ACC would improve our recruiting.I diplomatically disagree on the sentiment that; "the ACC killed our ability to recruit." And, for all of the same/similar reasons that Cusefan0307 (and others) have mentioned here in numerous threads over the years on this particular topic.
When we were in the Big East, there were numerous NYC/NY State recruits that we missed out on/went to UNC, Duke and other ACC schools. So, IMO, with all due respect, your argument doesn't hold water.
And you’re still wrong. The same reason we shouldn’t have octogenarian politicians.Of course we never got everyone we wanted, but our batting percentage collapsed. Facts speak for themselves. Top recruits stopped biting because JB was an elderly man who didn’t travel or recruit hard anymore, and turned down players like Jalen Brunson, Monte Morris, and even SGA instead of listening to Hop and pivoting to those guys when certain recruitments were trending poorly. Worst mistake: He essentially forced Hop to leave for Washington because he made it known he didn’t want to retire (after agreeing to retire in 2015), even though he was past his prime. That meant we lost our boss recruiter and all his decades long, built-in connections. JB also insisted on playing 100 percent zone, even though the top players need to develop their man to man defense to make the NBA, so we couldn’t compete for those players anymore. Then he built his later teams around his son instead of letting Buddy be a key supporting player with better talent around him. And he stuck to playing 100 percent zone when it became clear that the zone no longer worked as effectively in today’s game with everyone shooting 3s. Finally, he stuck with a failed S&C coach for years and years and never advocated that the AD give him more resources to compete. JB hurt the brand and the program he built, because he stubbornly failed to adjust to the modern realities of college basketball. It had little to do with joining the ACC. Why do you insist on sticking to this lazy conference narrative and ignore all the other major factors? Our brand disappeared in the ACC.
JB was the closer. Some recruits stopped biting when we joined the ACC. We got some good recruits but not enough.
Perfectly stated. Every single point. Could not agree more. Not worth wasting your breath with Alaska, his take is tired and repetitive, and quite ill informed.Top recruits stopped biting because JB was an elderly man who didn’t travel or recruit hard anymore, and turned down players like Jalen Brunson, Monte Morris, and even SGA instead of listening to Hop and pivoting to those guys when certain recruitments were trending poorly. The brand is fines. The $$$ and commitment to recruiting have not been.Of course we never got everyone we wanted, but our batting percentage collapsed. Facts speak for themselves. Isaiah Stewart was another guy who could have been at SU but followed Hopkins to UW.
