It was strange year one. 20 wins, but we got blown out a number of times. I thought it was due to the make up of the team. 3 years later, it’s really more a reflection of the coach.

His teams just flat out lack toughness.

Yeah when you squinted hard you could see a slight improvement. But losing by 29 to Wake that year gave me serious concerns. That just can't happen and was a baddd sign.

I sat in Section 122 with 2 of my buddies (both Tar Heel fans unfortunately) but three things really stuck out: 1.) when the first promo shooter during a timeout made his 3 point shot, the entire section screamed that he had more 3 pointers than our entire team as we were 0/9 at that point! Pretty sad
2.) the fans absolutely do not like Nate George running the point! Yikes
3.) Donnie Freeman was invisible

Along with poor in-game adjustments, Red hitching his wagon to JJ will be one of the main reasons he only lasts 3 seasons.

Several games in a row Freeman avoids the press after the game. A real leader has enough toughness to speak to the press. He runs and hides just like he does during games. He pouted and sulked during the entire game. Put some energy into the game instead of getting technicals. Don’t waste $1.5+ million on him next year.

I was really hoping they'd pull this out today so that Red would have something positive on his way out. A few more chances, but it's not looking good. I talked myself into thinking the team would play with their hair on fire after Duke.

The biggest problem is we never play like our hair is on fire. We play like we are good and we aren't. It's infuriating.

That is a slap in the face to the culture we have here currently at Syracuse. We have no fight in our roster. Our next coach is going to have to come here and fix the culture day 1. Too many players just go through the motions the last couple of years.

From the very start when the players were introduced Donnie was listless and had his head down. I thought, “Uh oh,” and I was right. What the heck is happening to him? He is our best player? Something is going on between the players, methinks. Just a guess from a therapist who tries to understand dynamics.
