Unit depth charts - Spring 25 Version

Fran / coaches seem him as an NFL safety so he'll be starting back there. He played badly hurt last year and still gutted it out. I'm excited to see what he can do healthy. They expect him to be an NFL pick next year.
Is that why in a few games he seemed slow? He will be one tall safety. Should help us on TE coverage.

Great tidbit about Coyle.

I am excited for the Coyle hire. He has tremendous defensive coaching experience, including NFL experience as a defensive backs position coach. He’s been a head coach as well (a bad season in the American Alliance of Football) so he can be a resource in a variety of ways. Pretty amazing to have this guy here in between Coordinator jobs or as a retirement gig, right when we have two dozen untested young defensive backs on the roster.

Another great example of Fran’s attention to detail, and also the budget he seems to have available.
Coyle has been an NFL DC as well as a college one. Great old hand to help with game planning

I'm less concerned with LB than DB. We only need 2 LB's and feel confident we have at least 2 solid ones from that group. We need 10 DB's for our 2-deep and we have little experience coming back.
Who are the 2 solid LBs? McD is not an ACC level LB in this scheme. Heard, Sparrow are not scaring anyone either.

It’s a very weak positional group.

Might be smart to have McDonald on the field for this too. He struggled at times last year, and he’s by no means a lock to start. But his experience and smarts should put him under consideration to wear the green dot.
Make mcd a coach then. Smartest guy in the world doesn’t mean anything if you’re slow as .

I like sparrow if he is 230 plus cause he has speed but was a bit small last yer and in a full season u need that extra muscle to take the pounding. Mc i liked 2 years ago but in this defense or how he is coached to get off lineman needs to change big time. Conley toldme a few times how u strike the oline guy with ur hands and then get off or u dip and rip low and bye him which is what mich st wasgreat at years and years ago or u drive oline into your gap. Non of these things mc does well. He sees hole and is in position but gets blocked or shielded somehow and misses. Heard i like and new kid not sure yet. Dave O should be in mix too. Need aggressive downhill guys.

Davien Kerr (SO) is most likely cornerback 1 going into game 1. Demetres Samuels, Kaleb singleton and Davion Kerr (Fr) will all compete. I think they keep Devin Grant at the star position.
I always said we need 1 stud at Cb with Kerr as young guys learn.

Great addition. He is really going to help out our DC

Tremble's brother plays in the NFL. Jamie put in his year behind Oronde. I think we're going to see a lot of him as a receiving TE.
his dad is also an nfl player - quasi won the 1995 super bowl with cowboys (released mid year, but i assume got a ring)
