USMNT 2025

that costa rica - Surinam game was insane.

CR jumps to 2-0 lead. Suriname comes back and takes a 3-2 lead, then in the 13th extra minute CR gets a penalty shot and wins. 15 shots on goal and 7 go in.

Even better they were giving +money on the over 2.5

I have never seen a team more scared to play soccer. Pathetic.

Agyemang is too slow to play striker for the national team.

Understand this is a “B” team but he couldn’t outrun the Saudi backline.

Yeah he's pretty bad. It was tough to watch but then you realize a majority of these guys won't make the WC roster. I'm surprised Haji Wright doesn't start.

Just awful.

Heavy touches, wayward passes, no off ball movement of any consequence.

Of course, that applies to every minute of every Gold Cup match I've seen so far.

As my son said last night, "The Gold Cup is currently the second most important soccer competition going on in this country right now - and the most important one is in its first year of existence."

They should play McGlynn in CM as he's a competent progressive passer and figure out someone to start on the right. Players have stunk but also Pochettino's tactics are strange.

Watching Canada do everything but lose to Curacao last night was interesting. Multiple goals waived off and Var but still ended in a Tie

Matt Freese looking like my 9 year olds teammate kicking the ball directly to the opposing attacker.

Good grief.

USA goalie pool is in the toilet. Never would have expected that growing up on Keller, Freidel, and Howard.

Please put ANYONE other than Agyemang at striker.

He offers nothing to his teammates who are looking to provide service.

I'm sure he's a nice guy but he's absolutely awful. Typical American player. Very big and athletic with poor technical and tactical skills.

Yep. Probably played striker from youth because he was always bigger, faster and stronger.

Developed minimal touch because of that could as his athleticism enabled him to outrun 90% of his competitors.

LMAO, Agyemang with the go ahead goal.

Thought for sure he was offsides

Very interested to see who they call up for Haji Wright's replacement. Needs to be a quality striker.

In a statement, the USSF added that Wright "will return to Coventry City for further evaluation and treatment." Tournament rules stipulate that Wright can't be replaced on the U.S. roster.

I think they are worried that he plays almost zero D and does now have a great work rate. Not a great combo for playing in the middle of the field.

Yeah he would almost have to play as a 10 with two holding mids or play with Tyler Adams doing a Superman impression. Fair critique of him. His ceiling is capped without improving that side.

I don't know. He seems to score more often than most of these other guys.

Balogun, Haji Wright, Pepi, there are a bunch of them who appeared for the US, had a good game or two right off the bat, and then disappear from view, never to be seen again.

Agyemang has done it in a bunch of games in his last couple cycles. That's more than most of these guys have done.

They have to beat Costa Rica in the Quarterfinals, of course, and that's not guaranteed. But I'm glad we're avoiding Mexico until the Finals, if they can get that far. They lost to Canada last time, didn't they? That's their semifinal opponent.

This team needs to win this tournament convincingly to get generic US fans back on board and interested again. I hope they can do it, but they haven't shown a lot so far.

Some of the guys have emerged. I like how Malik Tillman has taken his opportunity, and now is moving to Dortmund, right? I think I just read that. That's tremendous. I think I read that Tim Weah is about to make a move to Nottingham Forest, I think it was.

Glad to see Tyler Adams back involved, and looking fairly good last time out. Berhalter was good. Chris Richards, Brendan Aaronson, ageless Tim Ream. Those guys all looked good to me.

Luna is going to make the squad. Tillman will make the squad. Cardoso and McGlynn are becoming Pochettino favorites. The new goalie seemed more sure than Matt Turner.

Will guys like Gio Reyna, Sergino Dest or Matt Turner get back into the team? Gio has to find a team before his career gets away from him. He should go to Wrexham! LOL
