Because on 3rd and long we play even further back. When you always play 10 yards off WR’s and aren’t agressive you’ll get burned

Just poor strategic coaching on the 3rd downs on Defense…not accounting for the QB and parking DBs 10 yards off the line on 3rd and 9 allowing for the quick screen.
