Vegas Bet - Newbie Here

whats the best site for online betting??? and when i say best, i mostly mean easiest for beginners. and simplest.

If I were to gamble, I'd use . Though in order to get your winnings you have to be able to scan your ID and submit a couple things like that, which I didn't realize before checking it out, and which I don't know if other sites make you do.

Plus, one of the generic football photos they use is a Syracuse football player (obviously photoshopped to obscure any identifying uniform marks, but clearly an SU player..I want to say Dorian Graham or Marcus Sales, but I can't remember).

Depends... if you go on a real money site that you have to fund like betus, then you need to prefund the account to bet and payouts can be cumbersome. But it does keep you in check that you're only wagering what is in the account.

A lot of locals that will take action using websites that are "for entertainment only". You are given an account and put things in online and it tracks them weekly, at which point you would have to settle face to face. This is not obviously not for everybody.

Either way all of the sites are pretty easy to follow, just be sure if you want to put in a parlay you select "Parlay", otherwise you may accidentally just put in 3 individual bets when you intended to do one 3 team Parlay.

Yeah I tend to put money lines into parlays as well.

So syr02esq, if you parlay teams on the money line it adds or reduces the payout based on if you are giving away or taking additional points.

For example, a typical 3 teamer pays 6 to 1 going against the spread. If you took 3 teams that are all favorites and parlayed them all on the money line (say they are each favorites and -150 on the money line), it may then only pay 3 to 1, but now you only need those teams to win outright.

Seems to me it should pay a little higher than 3 to 1; otherwise, you would be better off just betting 3 games individually? I would expect you earn a little more for taking the chance that all three favorites win.

You can find payout calculators online, but basically if you put $100 on a -110 moneyline, you're basically winning $90. Do that three times, and you're betting $300 to win $270.

However, if you parlay those three, you're betting $100 to win $595 and change (yes, this is according to one of those calculators).

That was just a hypothetical, it would depend on what the exact money line odds were on each game. Some sites will not allow you to put big money lines (i.e. over +300) into a parlay anyway. To get only 3 to 1 it would have to be 3 heavy favorites on the money line. On sites you can propose anything you want just to see what the payout would be.

If your really confident with a three team parlay, you could do a parlay and then play them all to win on top of it.
4 seperate bets.

That way if one looses you don't lose as much but if all three win you win more.
Put say 20 on the parlay and 10 to win on each team and if one looses.. you win something like 5 of the 20 back on the parlay even though you lost. Spread line only though.

The dissadvantage if two of your bets lose you lose more.

Parlays are completely, 1000% useless unless the games are played concurrently.

I hope you took the advice and parlayed SU with the over...

Also, I hope you don't miss getting bets in because of the 3 hour time difference. Been bitten by that one

I've had zero problems with 5dimes and Bookmaker (I jumped ship though when they were shut down a little while ago.) Have also used and Bodog but the payout process was like pulling teeth with both...that was a few years ago though.

Another site to check out is freesportsbet.com. It's free, legal, ad based wagering. You start off with $1.00...almost every sport available. You lose your buck...you watch a :30 video and get another $0.50. If you hit $100 they have agreements with multiple sportsbooks where you can just transfer the money into a real money wagering site. You can also cash out (snail mail check) but unless you're a special member you only get half of your winnings (ie: won $400 - they send ya $200.) You're not going to pay the bills with it but its fun and nothings better than always playing with house money.

Just wanted to give everyone a friendly update. Well, I arrived too late to make my bet. The game already started. Regardless, there were three lines about 50 people deep so it would have been impossible to make it on time. I did, however, make a futures bet on Syracuse winning the NC at 7/1 odds. I hope this pays out!

As an aside, I set next to Dr. J. at the roulette table. He was with two lady friends and seemed to be enjoying his time. I knew who he was but didn't bother him. Funny thing is that the dealer that he was Robert Parish!

Another online betting question. How do you "cash out"?? A couple years ago i joined one, won a couple bets and it was just very complicated to try and get my money so i gave up. If i join a site, make a couple bets, win a hundred bucks, how do i get that money??

This is all hypothetical, if gambling was legal.
