8th fewest defensive plays
2nd most offensive plays

Pick 6s will do that to you

But it's very strange

This team isn't good. We are considerably worse per play but we score more. But for a few different reasons, we have the ball much more than the other offense

25th in offense yards per game, 87th per play

Defense 44th per game, 98th per play

The rest of this year is probably going to stink and we are probably lucky to be 5-2

Nowhere close to good per play

Elite Kyle McBrady is 58th in passer rating

Lots of long and time consuming drives on offense, mostly 7-8 yard pass plays. Keeps our D off the field, and when they are on the field, they either hold their ground or give up a huge play. This team isn’t good at very much and terrible in several key areas. You are correct that we are fortunate to be 5-2.

Cal and UConn are not far behind us in schedule adjusted points margin. Bc is not far ahead of us.

Miami and VT are losses. 8-4 and 5-7 are equally possible. A costly loss to UConn would just be so gross

We cannot lose to U Conn and don’t believe we will. I think 6-6 to 8-4 is what we are looking at. U Conn was one yard away from losing to Temple at home, so while they are improved they still stink

Duke and WF games were close

UConn stinks regardless of the metrics.

If that isn’t a win, it’s a huge problem. Even Dino blew the doors off independent UCant.

They're better than they've been. The crazy McCord talk ignored metrics too

They're averaging almost a full yard more than their opponents per play. Schedule is week

Jim Mora is not bad

Speaking of crazy stats...we're one of four teams that have yet to lose a fumble this season. Pretty impressive through 7 games.

They should have lost to Temple… at home… they’re not good. It’s a win 100 times out of 100, Akron style.

Usually teams improve or at least have 1 game where everything falls into place. We haven’t come close to having our ceiling game. Is it possible? I’ve felt we’ve been Ok through 6 games and assumed they would improve. We’ve certainly had our floor game. The defense looked improved with some personnel back. Long , play consuming drives were something we looked to be focusing on. I thought it was a good idea with the guys missing on defense. I’m less likely to think we will see improvement throughout the rest of the season now, but fingers crossed for the ceiling game. I think all the games are winnable… and losable after what happened Thursday.
