No defensive coordinator. In fact, I vote for no defensive coaches, period. Just throw 11 guys out there and let them figure it out. Can’t be worse than what we had this year WITH the coaching.

I don't know names like some people, but I want a guy that knows how to organize and call a good defense. This is one spot where Fran should earn his money. I have the same opinion on this as the oline position. Find a DC that is experienced at a lower level looking to move to the P4. Fran should be able to watch film and see who can run a fundamentally sound well prepared defense that confuses offenses. No read and react. Attack and create chaos.

I don't care at all whether the guy can recruit. That's Fran's thing and he can bring in young hustling position coaches that can do that.

Nagey is a very good coach. ODU experience and has Lehigh D rolling in the FCS. He's older which I like seen it all and is proven. Not a splash hire but knows his stuff.
I'm all in on hiring solid coaches from FCS programs.
Look at coach P and his background. So many great coaches at lower levels.
