Virginia Postgame

Absolutely meningless. The lax team is ranked third and the coaches don’t wear suits.
We are a northeastern basketball program. Basketball matters more up here. Show the game respect and wear suits like what was done for the previous decades. In post Covid, the toughest teams not always the best teams, but the toughest. The coaches all wear suits. You want to be the toughest and the best that wins championships in dominate fashion.

So exactly what I said, got it.
No, not what you said. You asked, “How will Kline spin it?” I suggested a response to your question, but yes, we do agree on the potential likely outcome.

But will another program see it that way or will they see it as bad decisions all around that lead to significant money being spent on sub par performance? Like we can be honest, the coaching has cost us games but so has the boneheaded decisions and poor play of key, highly paid guys.

So what I am saying is that our ISO free-for-all roll-the-ball-out system that Red runs is what leads to those bonehead decisions if they were in a controlled system like other places, those decisions would be made for them by the system, not by them just play "free". That is what happens: you have discipline within your system and within your program.

At this point, the team isn’t losing because of talent. They’re losing because they don’t play like a team. No fight, no fire, just lackadaisical play and coaching.

The offense was a mess again, finishing with 13 turnovers and just 9 assists. That’s not bad execution, that’s five guys taking turns freelancing. There’s no flow, no trust, and no cohesion. If the offense produces more giveaways than assists, you’re not running offense at all. This has been all year not just today.

Virginia, meanwhile, showed what real structure looks like: 18 assists, only 10 turnovers. One team knew where shots were coming from. The other was guessing.

The effort gap was just as embarrassing. Syracuse grabbed 6 offensive rebounds. Virginia had 17. That’s getting worked over mentally and physically. Extra possessions come from commitment and awareness, and Syracuse showed neither. Again nothing new with this team.

I guess you didn’t watch the game. Unfortunate.
It doesn’t really matter. SU is incapable of beating a good team on the road, and teams know it. UVA knew they just had to keep grinding and they’d win. They didn’t need to play particularly well.

Red said it wasn’t an injury. He just chose not to play Anthony.

Shame it came to this. If there had been coaching at any point between November and now maybe he wouldn’t have needed to be benched entirely in game #24.

The least of our problems.

Might be different if Anthony had a body suited for high end basketball, could play defense, shoot consistently, and wasn’t always looking to play hero ball. Glad Red finally recognized that.

Per Donna, Red said that he didn't play because of the matchups and UVA's mature lineup.

Like freshmen have never played against seniors before. Oy.

the first time red does something right and its this lol

I posted it in the game thread. It’s very simple why he’s not playing. I don’t care what his last name is.

Its to late to start trying to do stuff like this. It doesn't matter at this point; all you're doing now is ruining relationships.
You’re assuming the next coach doesn’t want to completely clean house. Might not be a bad idea.

But why ruin the relationship between Melo and himself and Melo and Syracuse just to what? Lose a game you were already going to lose if he played or not? The time for coaching like this was earlier in the year, when it would have mattered and set a tone. Now it looks like Red benched him because Melo made a mean tweet

I doubt that’s the reason. Anthony hasn’t been helping the team. No reason to play him.
