huh? If you dont blame red the coach, kline the GM or Wildhack the AD then who do you blame? The players were a complete turnover Y/Y yet the results are just as awful

How exactly did you conclude I don’t blame Red? I didn’t even want him back for this season, and didn’t give him a pass in my original comments.

But - Wildhack’s hands were tied by BOT as far as hiring Red and keeping him for this season. Fans who blame Wildhack for hiring Red are blaming him for a decision that was forced upon him. And I responded to why blaming Kline is dumb by going point by point through his responsibilities.

Instead of responding to what I said, you did a great job inventing something I did not say and responding to that. Wanna try addressing what I actually said instead? Thanks in advance!

I watched multiple guards of ours airball 3’s late in the shot clock and multiple guards of theirs make 3’s late in the shot clock.

People wonder why our bigs are useless and nothing works offensively. 3 for 11 from 3 today. Even with zero offensive strategy or gameplan we should be able to shoot better than tha.

Kingz, George and JJ were 17-34 for 45 points. They didn’t make many 3’s, but they didn’t go 2-11 and have 3 TO’s.

Shame it came to this. If there had been coaching at any point between November and now maybe he wouldn’t have needed to be benched entirely in game #24.

Why would I give Red the benefit of the doubt on this one?

It wasn’t a 13 point win even if that’s what the scoreboard said. It was an 8 point win that ballooned to 13 in the last minute.

I guess you have to say the Carolina loss wasn’t a 10 point loss , but rather a 30 point loss under that way of thinking.

We’re 24-30 over the past two seasons, so it isn’t that difficult to believe.

I am just shocked by the minutes distribution:

1. No Kiyan
2. All of three minutes for Sadiq who in that brief time had a bucket and two boards.
3. 8 minutes for Zephir who is so clearly not a high D1 player. His D is OK. but literally ZERO O in his game.
4. 33 minutes for Donnie who was really struggling out there. I guess we needed him off the glass.
5. 17 minutes for Betsy. If he is out there we need to get him shots. How is it that we only found him for one shot ? If we cant get him shots why not give Sadiq or Kiyan some of his minutes ? Sadiq is a better defender, a better rebounder, and will find some shots. Kiyan has so much more O potential and will find a way to the FT line.

We got trashed off the glass by 38 to 28. We had all of 6 O Boards of which 3 or 4 came on one possession that we didnt even score on. That was a critical possession, you just cant get 3 or 4 chances and not score without coming away deflated.

How can they get 30 trey attempts, most on decent looks, and we get 11 ????

As many good things as George did out there, he still had 5 TOs. You just cant have your PG doing that.

All in all, it was such a disaster that I think Sadiq deserved Player of the Game for his effective three minutes.

One thing I noticed was that Donnie let guys get past him far more times that JJ did. Small consolation, but they kept it close for a while.

I can't recall too many sons who have followed in the footsteps of their Hall of Fame father and got anywhere near that level of success. Most, at best, were probably average or above average
at their craft. They had the advantage of being exposed to the best of the best, but also were probably brought up in a financially privileged homelife where athletic success was never an essential to their well being.

Have no idea about Kiyan's mindset or his motivation, but from my perspective it almost seems like Melo has more of himself invested in Kiyan's success than his son does. People I know who have met him (briefly) say he is a nice kid and is comfortable to be around. That's not too shabby a label for a young kid in today's world.
