Some time ago someone posted a pic of these helmets on the Forum which looked to me like they actually had stone set in the helmet and it was some sort of proto-type that would never be used in a game. I would be surprised if the Hokie players had much input on these

I thought it was difficult to tell they were "stone" on tv. Even on closeup, if you didn't know it was stone, you would think it was Dan Akroyd's shirt from "Two Wild and Crazy Guys".

Very unique. I noticed that Georgia Tech was wearing Russell uniforms; they're the only Major conference program suited by Russell.

I agree. They still appeared glossy... I thought if they were going with the "stone" look, they would have gone matte finish. Just couldn't tell WHAT it was supposed to be and it didn't match the rest of their uniform in any way.
