Wake coach disses Cuse

I was simply stating that Vegas doesn't know much about this team or what the spreads should be.
vegas lines aren't about trying to predict the final score. Vegas lines are about trying to get an equal amount of money on both sides. To cite them the way you are trying to is foolish.

Until we start capitalizing on our Red Zone opportunities, we remain a mediocre-average club at best.

Going to be tough to get to 6-6 (the very definition of mediocre-average), but it's doable.

Cheers,
Neil

Bowl eligible is average, not mediocre. Mediocre is 4 wins. Awful is less.

We are indeed average. And this average team kicked their a**es. Let the scoreboard do our talking. Now let's try and get 3 more wins!

Did you read what I was responding to? You couldn't have with that response to my post.

A different poster was using the line in that fashion, not me. I was rebutting saying basically Vegas lines mean nothing about competitiveness of the games or this team.

After the Greg Robinson ERA mediocre isn't bad. We are mediocre nothing wrong with saying we are mediocre. Past 5 years. 2009- 4-8 2010- 8-5 2011 5-7 2012 8-5 2013 7-6 2014 3-4 We are 35-35 in our last 70 games which is mediocre. Again this isn't an insult and I thank Marrone getting us back to mediocre after 10-37 in 4 years with Greg Robinson.

And that's the attitude some have and why we'll probably never get to good again. It's why so many don't attend anymore, because mediocre is acceptable.

Mediocre is bad.

Very Good to Great is the only thing that is acceptable in the long run. I will take (live with) a few mediocre seasons to get there.

Well we are in year 6 of "at least it's better than the GRob years".

Indeed it is...or, irrelevant...take your pick.

I don't get this argument at all. So fans and coaches and AD's are not being held accountable? They should fire Shafer?

The only reasonable argument is that they don't spend enough money - but the IPF is being built, so?

We should just call all this the "Post-McNabb Years" as since 1998, sans 2001, we have been mostly average/mediocre, except for the era between 2005-2007 where I swear I can't remember a thing.

Well we are in year 6 of "at least it's better than the GRob years".

In addition, I don't even know why those years are discussed anymore. More time has elapsed since he left than he was ever here for. It's like an excuse you hear from a teenager, "You guys aren't very good right now," "Well, hey, we're better than the team was in 2008." It just doesn't make sense to repeatedly fall back on that argument. It's dust in the wind. There is no longer any tie to that era outside of Dr. Gross.

Mediocre is mediocre. Bad is the GRob era. Syracuse will never be better than mediocre unless we recruit better players or our coaches coach up the 2 star talent and we catch lighting in a bottle. We overschedule in football we don't schedule for wins thus we are mediocre. I would gladly take mediocre over GRob I stand by that point. Of course we want more and we were never going to get better without newer facilities which the AD/BoT finally approved this year. If we want to be big time the University/AD have to funnel money into the FB program so they have a bigger budget for recruiting, coaching staff salary, facilities.

Syracuse doesn't have a student activities fee like a lot of universities have that are funneled to the AD. People don't go to SU FB games because they don't win enough. People are bandwagon fans which is fine, but mediocrity is on the university for what I said not the fanbase. SU BB is popular because they win and people love a winner. If SU BB was like BC BB or St. John's BB people wouldn't be jam packed every conference game.

Screw WF, they lost to UL-Monroe and Utah State and have no business trash talking anybody let alone someone who just blasted them without half of our starting offense.
