Last time we played Wake, half the crowd left early and missed the comeback win.

And I took it upon myself to yell at those who did. Still not sure if that was right of me to do, but it really irritated me.

I'll never forget that Butler game. One of my favorite moments at the Dome - even if it was an NIT game.

I do think Donovan's jersey retirement could draw people to the Dome that otherwise would have stayed home - if advertised correctly. Doesn't sound like they have done a great job in that respect. I'll never forget his last game in the Dome when we crushed Miami - he was a rock star that day. Most people have no idea that we are honoring Mcnabb on Saturday, I am as diehard as it gets and even I haven't heard jack about it other then this board. Syracuse marketing dept is one of the worst in Div 1. Utica College does a better job promoting there football team.

I did get an email but as you noted how many thousands or even hundred of thousands in the CNY area have no idea about the honoring of Mcnabb due to the lack of promation. All you reccomendations are thing Syracuse could be doing, especially doing a promotion with Wegmans or Fucillo that would definitely get peoples attentions. Syracuse should have bought a huge Mcnabb poster and placed it square in the middle of the new mall expansion promoting Mcnabbs jersey retirement, thousands walk through there daily.

The email is great...if youre an alumni. Problem is that the majority of fans that go to the games are not alumni which I agree with you that they need to come up with something, anything. One thing that I think is overlooked in todays world is that only 5-10 yrs ago people got newspapers EVERY DAY. This doesnt happen anymore unfortunately and this is how people got informed abougt what is going on. Now its all web based where you can pick and choose what you read. At least with a paper it was all in front of you.

Marketing was 10x better during Grob campaigns. I remember lots of billboards, radio ads, etc. Then all those fans that came to the Dome watched some of the most horrible football they had ever seen and some still aren't coming back. Maybe the higher-ups knew we had no WR, no functional QB, and no pass defense and therefore aren't advertising for fear that they will further alienate the casual fan base with more horrendous football. *SARCASM*(in case anyone needed clarification)

In all seriousness, we got blown out last time in the Dome and blown out last time on TV. We will be lucky to get 35+ actual for this game. The buzz surrounding this team is gone and so are the casual fans.
