Wanted: Killer Instinct

I agree with jekelish. JB let his foot off too early and then had to hit panic button and put Ennis and others back in. I thought we played like crap in the 2nd half.

It is expected against terribly overmarched teams. Happens to the best teams all the time in early season play. Not anything to be worried about.

A big part of it was the refs insistance on rewarding the offensive players for initiating contact when the defender moved their feet well. We also played a lot of subs while Fordom tried to stay with their best players as long as possible. Plus we didn't really defend the 3 line well down the stretch although it seemed all are 2g were in foul trouble.

And of course we could use a killer instinct.

So many fouls and free throws... hard to get any flow from the gamecast seemed nearly ever possession there was a foul

I thought the killer instinct was pretty good last game...

Like someone else, still a really young team. It's good that a game like this happens early honestly; hopefully it won't happen again.

its called garbage time. it happens.
The entire second half can't be considered garbage time. We played like crap for most of the half. I realize there are growing pains with this team, but it was pretty poor basketball to watch.

JB definitely took his foot off the gas way too early. It's as if he counted this as a win before it started and decided he was going to play the entire bench.

yeah #0 for them shot 13 FT, that's a ton for a guard in a college game
(and Ennis shot 10, for that matter)

I'm not sure that tonight was enough of a scare for the message to be received.

Overplayed Ennis this game. Anytime we're up by 15 Silent G should be getting the minutes. It's crucial that we use the early parts of our season to develop a 2nd competent point guard. BJ and Bus could be answers, but as of right now they each look like what they are, freshman (which is to be expected).

God forbid Ennis gets injured, we need a competent, effective second choice.

Watching uk-msu.. pretty crappy basketball as well. Until these refs get a feel .. ugly city all around.

But way more on the ball and off the abll contact allowed in that one, Much more physical just not allowed to play with your hands on D.

Game was never in doubt,

Bad defensive second half from our guards though. Ennis had a great offensive game but looked bad defensively.
Gbinije can cooney I really wasn't watching their defense but I think they barely played in the second half. Fordham got all their points from their guards though.

Gbinije is a blowby guard right now CJ is more of isolation dribbler he will slow down his dribble some. Ennis got to the rim alot today but over time he is going to need to make those midrange floaters against the tougher defensive teams.

Coleman double double :). Grant nice game maybe the best player on the floor.

6 different cuse players in double figures after 2 games .

I don't think he took his foot off the gas. He wanted the subs to get some experience, and they did. Unfortunately, the sub guards did not do well on defense. When Ennis and Cooney returned with only a 12-pt lead, the bleeding stopped.

It's going to happen in these type of games where we come out in the 1st half and do what we are supposed to. We have a young second unit this is learning time for them, I have no problem with JB getting them experience.

If there is anything to look out for it's our free throw shooting, and lack of 3 point shooters. Either way once again our defense will keep us in any game we play. Tonight not withstanding, I think the zone will benefit us moving forward in regards to the new rules
