Bug Williams gets my vote. Our best player 6 ft or under
That was my assumption but I am not well versed of all the players we’ve had so I was wondering if there were any. Plus it’s interesting they would be in Boeheims system. Cohen?Kind of a goofy poll since the total number of decent sub 6' players is miniscule.
How do you find a guard under 6' that isn't quick? No love for Josh Wright?
Depends on if Sherman Douglas was actually 6 ft?
Absolutely! The competitive spirt Jonny exuded was electric and palpable, even through a TV screen. It was so obvious that he had that "hate to lose" attitude that make the great ones who they are. Listening to some of Devos podcasts lifts the curtain back and offers a peak into how tenacious that dude was. I wish he was still around the program, but I'm speculating that it could be painful for him to be around the game at a place where he had so much success given the terrible way his playing career was cut short. I'm completely biased (profile picture probably gives that way), but Wrinkle is right. Jonny is one of the best orange to ever do it.Not only was Jonny our greatest player 6ft and under, he was one of our greatest players, period.
Heart, talent, charisma, production. Just put the ball in his hands and run high screen and roll. Love Jonny Flynn
Six seconds left. Orange is down a point. Trip to the final four on the line. Inbound to Bug Williams who goes the length of the court in a blur for the win. The whole city goes berserk. No one could stay with Williams. Bug was the set up guy all year controlling the tempo.
In the previous game Bug neutralized NC's all everything point guard all night.
He gets my vote.
I was in school with Bug. He was not near as good as Flynn.Bug Williams gets my vote.
yes. And there were times if my memory serves me , that Bug didn't even start as a sr. Sat behind Ross Kindell and Larry Kelly. Good player, no question. I think he led us in scoring his sr year (my jr year). But not in Flynn's class.Didn’t he pass the ball to Hackett?
Jonny Flynn is the most amazing athlete ever to run the 1 at Syracuse. He was terrific. Not only was Jonny our greatest player 6ft and under, he was one of our greatest players, period.

I mean I wasn't directly comparing the two, but I think it's very unfair to say Flynn didn't help those around him. The assist numbers weren't godly but he was a playmaker through and through, and trusted with the ball in hands every possession from day 1 as a freshman.Jonny Flynn is the most amazing athlete ever to run the 1 at Syracuse. But he couldn't shine The General's shoes.
Winner, who made everyone around him better. Can't say the same for Flynn.
