Was Johnny Flynn

The guy who would pretend he couldn't hear Boeheim when he'd call a play in? And changing out of zone to man when he felt like it?

Haha, I thought this was common knowledge.
Was he responsible for that Kansas game switch up? Because if so…..

Kinda wish we had a kid who could ball that would’ve switched a few calls up on both ends the last few years…..

Then it sounds like you've built up an idyllic version of Jonny Flynn, that differs from the reality.

I 100% concede that he was an eye-popping athlete -- loved watching him play. He had athletic tools you just can't teach. But he was a massive headache for his college coach, and he was a massive headache for his NBA team. Well documented.
I’d sign up for Flynn and the 2009 team over anything we’ve seen in the last 6 years in a heartbeat.

I wish times could be so turbulent…and fun to watch, again.

Yeah, the prism that I look at 2007-2009 through is equal parts 2005 and 2010. That is, winners with top-level talent.

Look at it through 2022 eyes and you're going to find a lot less to complain about with Flynn et al.

Though I know Boeheim appreciates the kids who are easier to manage. That's no small thing.

You mean other than changing JBs defensive calls on the fly? Which happened repeatedlly.

I’m of the opinion that that team changed JB. He will never ever ever say it publicly, because that’s not who he is, but the Flynn, Harris team that blew all those leads drove him crazy on and off the court and altered some of his philosophy.

Flynn blowing off JBs instructions. Harris pouting and disappearing to Niagara Falls.

Harris opening up Manley by himself at like 2am, not able to turn the lights on and then pulling his car inside to play under the light of his headlights might be the greatest untold tale.

And I haven’t even touched on Devo.

That team was nuts.
I want to hear more...

That team would have beaten last years team by 20 points or more. JF was insanely talented

It's common knowledge that Flynn was a MAJOR headache behind the scenes.
I don’t think it’s “common knowledge” at all. I’ve heard these vague kind of comments about Flynn stated on the board a few times, but many of us haven’t heard any specifics or stories about him being a headache. Harris and Devo, on the other hand, their issues were more public and well-known. Not doubting you. Just pointing out that I think only those with deeper knowledge of the program are aware of this.
