Look, I’m definitely not a huge Souare fan, but that being said, I thought he has been serviceable of late. I’ll go as far as saying, I think he was playing his best basketball in a Cuse uniform. Now, if he wasn’t able to go, disregard this…
How do you go from subbing him in every under 16min timeout, to not playing at all? At the very least he’s a bigger body that could have got in the way of their bigs, who were destroying us.
Obviously, plenty to critique sub-wise (yesterday more than ever), as we know. But this seemed very weird…

I was wondering why he got no run, too. Sadiq can generate some offense, but Soare is better defensively and a better rebounder. I'm guessing he was probably sick.

I mean the one dude hasn’t played in like 3 games, got 1 min against tech, played over half the first half and never saw the court again
Bizarre. I know people want to say he plays ok defense, but the offense is at a standstill with Zephir at POINT GUARD. He is absolutely not a pg

Or, AA benched him or some reason.
Or, one of AA's crazy substitution patterns.
Must be still upset Souare launched that three point attempt. I like that Sadiq got some run, but I think Donnie is more effective at the 4 and not the 5.

I think the best lineup up top is Kyle, flanked by Donnie and Betsey. Subs being Souare and Sadiq.

Sit JJ, and see what Nait and Nate can do. Bring in JJ and Kiyan for subs.

Nine guys. Keep them all fresh.

But, we know Red would never sit JJ.

And yet he did a better job calming things down and letting other guys run the offense effectively and much better on defense than Nait or JJ last night. Then he didn’t play again.

red will be sitting...in his rocking chair 20 years from and thinking back ...
"jeezus i played guard ! know what they needs to do ! why did i play JJ so much ?
cost me my damn job ! "

The thing is, Red doesn't know how to use Donnie as a 4 in his offense. He would wind up standing on the perimeter waiting for a pass to shoot a three.

In Red's offense, the 5 is the high screener. That's where Donnie should be.

Donnie and Kyle should be playing off each other, sealing off the lane, setting up easy baskets for each other.

Or, running a PnR with Nait George and again, one of them setting up an easy basket by sealing off half the lane.

Or, and we've seen it so infrequently, but we saw it twice with Sadiq last night, not so much a pick and roll, but driving down the right side of the lane, freeing up the entire left half of the lane for someone to either cut in from the corner or cut in from a 45 degree angle. Those looked so sweet with Sadiq last night, and you see it a lot done to perfection in the NBA, but our offense is more ISO, then guys cutting to the hoop.

Doing a weave up top with 3 or 4 guys, and then having one driving to the hoop with no intention of passing the ball is not a highly productive offense. In the first half we had a huge percentage of assisted baskets, and in the 2nd half, relatively few.

People talk about the assistant coaches, but you can see frustration on some of them, because they can see the bigger picture.

We could have built upon that lead with a different lineup imo. We couldn’t score
