Got in yesterday after a night with no sleep, and a week of drama after my son spent 5 nights in the hospital in LA. But he is home, and I am in San Diego.
Drove over with 2 friends from AZ. Can you say Road trip like I was 18 again? lol. Not really
I was upgraded to a 2 room suite. LR and BR and a patio overlooking the harbor and my BR overlooking the city. Amazing room. We sat on my balcony and watched the sun setting over the bay.
Then we got our nightly free glass of wine and wandered around the lobby.
Talked to Herm Frazier and his wife Carolyn (they also have a home in Phoenix). Bought a Holiday Bowl shirt from the SU table set up in the lobby.
Saw Gadsden on my way up to the room when I checked in but was with the bellhop and my bags so didn't get a photo. Did talk to his parents later at night.
I spent an hour with Tina Gill and some of her family in the M Club for happy hour. We talked so long that by the time we got to the bowl fest it was just wrapping up.
Went back to the hotel for bar and food time with a group of friends.
Again with the Gills. Met Coach Fran. Took a photo.
Later on when the McNabbs came down I spent some time with them and Roxie and I were taking to Fran's wife about Canada and Toronto. Oh when with the Gills after dinner, Darrell was with us for about 20 minutes. Such a nice kid. The whole family is amazing. 10 kids, all highly accomplished. I told you Darrell wants to go into Aerospace Engineering. One of his brothers is an Aerospace Engineer for Lockheed Martin in Houston, All 10 kids either got academic scholarships or athletic scholarships to college. All have advanced degrees. The youngest is track at University of Texas. Freshman. I know he looked at SU also. Mom and Dad married for almost 40 years.
Off to breakfast and then the parade, the U tailgate and then the game.
