Great seats behind the Cuse bench. William Kyle competed every second on the floor. He was outsized numerous times but battled play after play. Short lines for drinks and the dookie fans were very very nice. Those are the positives.

Overall I left with a feeling of complete and utter sadness. We are not even in the same hemisphere as dook. Their players are so much better and play so much harder it made me fully realize how far apart we are and how far we need to go to be a contender again. The other thing that was sad is dook fans were nice because we don’t even matter at all. We are like a DePaul or Providence to them. Non competitive and Easy win before a real game.

I stayed to 3 1/2 minutes left until I could take no more. I knew we were far away before tonight but this was as bad as it gets. They say it’s darkest before dawn and I hope this is bottom.

Yeah man, respect to you for going. seriously. At least for me down here in Florida, I can just turn the game off and move on to other things quickly when it goes bad (which I did tonight soon after halftime). However, when you go to the game and lose like this, you have to slowly exit. sucks. Better times ahead...

Did you get any sense, from your vantage point, as to why this is?

We played so hard in Vegas, at least the first two games, and it just seems to me that the team, with the exception of Kyle, is just going through the motions and playing out the string.

I counted at least half a dozen times, in the first half alone, where we should/could have gotten to a ball first but Duke either went to the floor and we did not or just went after it harder and ended up with the ball.

It was disheartening to watch.

You did better than me, I was done watching at halftime. Couldnt stand the reachable 5 point deficit ballooning to 16 in seconds.

It’s the fact that we/media say things prior to a game like this like “I hope they can keep it close”. There should never be a time where we have to say those words. There should never be a single game that’s beyond reach. Maybe unlikely to win okay but simply beyond reach as in we are not even in the same hemisphere as our competition. I’m sick over it. This started 10 years ago. Disgusting business decisions on the hill. An absolute joke of a product. Why do we constantly act like “no way we can compete with xyz”. Like Duke is a small private school too! I’m not saying we can be just like Duke, but we have the history, legacy and prowess to be on their heels at worst!

It’s an incredible experience there. No lines for anything. Campus is beautiful. The environment inside Cameron is unmatched anywhere. And since Scheyer took over I really don’t hate Duke anymore. He’s a good dude and they are just good. Glad you got to go. Sorry for the result

Always wanted to see a game there, and will some day. Tickets are crazy expensive.
How did you end up with seats behind the SU bench? that is awesome

Did a surgical fellowship at Duke, completely agree that it is a beautiful place. Cameron indoor is a cool experience, especially because their student section inside those small confines keeps it jumpin’.

I did not turn last nights game on, coached my son’s 6th grade team practice, got him at 8:30, waited til 9:00 to check the score to confirm what I anticipated (if they had won, I would have stayed up way too late watching it from the beginning). Looking forward to the change in leadership and what I’m optimistic will be a fresh start for our storied program.

In addition, my family was at the BC game and my high school son who plays varsity basketball at a New Hampshire level says, “the Cuse offense has no movement, it’s all iso”. His HS team has much more of an identity than we’ve had during Coach Autry’s tenure (thought we were going to have it early this year with the defense we were playing). His coach holds the boys accountable to play their roles and execute the plan, and it’s a lot more fun to watch!

I agree, going to a game at Cameron is a lot of fun (except for Dook usually winning). It's kind of the opposite of the Dome - small, intimate, easy, everyone close to the action. I also enjoyed the museum/shrine to Duke basketball just off the court. The one thing I was not impressed by, though, was the Crazies. For some reason they seemed very unoriginal and inauthentic, almost like they were just copying a dance they saw on TikTok. But maybe I'm just old.

Nah., you are right about the crazies. Back in the day they were more crazy and more individualistic. Now it’s just bad

I went to one of the opening games last year when they played Maine. Got first row right here for $175. The other games get crazy expensive but this was so worth it. The environment is still crazy even when they play other small schools. Other than going to the Masters, this is the 2nd best sporting event I’ve ever been to
