Friday will be September 12th, and Syracuse football will be undefeated. In the past 20 years, we have been able to make that claim (undefeated at this point in the calendar year) a total of three times: 2011, 2003, 1999.

Yes, going 14-0 is relatively impossible, but at least that glimmer of a dream is on the table in mid-September, which is very rare for us as a fanbase.

You need to go knock on wood, throw some salt over your shoulder, kiss a frog, and whatever else needs to be done to remove any jinx or hex you just put on us. Look at the years posted, all major disappointments. Apparently we need a good ass whoopin' to wake us up. I'm hoping that's what Nova was. Let's face it, we got our ass kicked. It was the equivalent of getting into a bar fight with some little guy who happens to be way scrappier than you thought. Next thing you know, you're woozy, on your heels and right when he cocks back to deliver that knock out blow...he slips, hits his head on the railing, and knocks himself out leaving you wondering if you actually won the fight or not. The girls are looking at you on your feet and him on the ground so what do you do???? Say fudge it, put your hands in the air and go home with the ladies.

My point was, starting 1-0 for this team has not been a good indicator as to how the season will play out. Each of those 3 1-0 seasons ended with 5, 6, or 7 wins. I meant it tongue-in-cheek, I'm not so superstitious that I actually believe we are doomed because we started 1-0. I didn't even think of it before but when you posted the years they stood right out at me, especially '03 and '11 so i thought i'd have a little fun with it.
