We have 4 returning starters and a Top 5 Recruiting Class

Yeah, he looks about 6-8.

Absolutely--agree 100% with that. When I did that detailed preseason practice write up two years ago, that's what I observed. I was surprised that for a kid being described as a 6-9 or 6-10 center, that he was 6-8, max.

I'm not melodramatic, but I agree--the last week has been a disaster for the program.

Doesn't mean we can't withstand / bounce back, but there's no other way to view how impactful those two announcements were last week.
I'd say this past year has been as tough as any I can remember. It started out with the somewhat unexpected departure of our freshman point guard to the NBA last spring, and then the surprising loss of Grant to the draft (those decisions left our recruiting/rotation in a tailspin). Football took over the baton from there ... an almost comical injury situation left us with a skeleton roster and a stack of ACC losses.

Then, to "compliment" our depleted football roster, the injury bug bites the basketball team and we loose our 6-10" PF 11 games into the season. Following that, in succession, we suffer a humiliating and unduly harsh NCAA report coupled with sanctions well beyond what seemed appropriate/reasonable. We watch the AD get re-assigned and the head coach slammed to the hardwood despite a clean recruiting record and no personal involvement in any of the violations.

No sooner had we turned to the tournament for a distraction and a breath of air, we get punched in the face again: McCullough "jumps" to the NBA (on one leg) and we find out the player supposed to be playing next to him decides to "get away from home".

Pretty long string of bad luck if you ask me. I'm switching from beer to hard liquor until we get some good news.

You aren't kidding. At least when we were hit with probation in the early 90's, football was going pretty strong at the time. We still have a strong lacrosse team this year. Hold on to that to get your through!
