We need more from Naithan George

See how that’s not easy to tell yourself?
I’ll leave it at this, we’ve had much less talented teams with much better records at this point in the season playing harder schedules. They do not play with enough discipline, not sure why. But I’ve yet to see a consistent product with Autry as coach where the players play with enough disicpline.

Red said it, lack of ball movement and moving without the ball. When that isn’t happening it directly affects George. Think of George as a pocket passer, his effectiveness and ineffectiveness is directly correlated to those around him on the line and the receivers running the correct routes. Judah Mintz was a dual threat, so he would sometimes get away with the teams lack of ball movement and moving without the ball. The truth is though in College Basketball, the best teams usually have a guy like George feeding others who are moving without the ball and setting ball screens for one another. Occasionally you need George to take the shot and keep the defense honest. Sometimes we play with purpose and things look good, honestly really good. It’s frustrating. We have to play with purpose all the time.
george is a great passer and a poor penetrator.

judah shined under red because he can go iso and was great pentrating and getting to the hoop. precisely where george lacks. he didnt an offense to do his thing...the kind of player jb liked towards the end of his era

its very strange to me that red couldnt see that george doesnt fit his style of offense...i guess he just saw "lead acc in assists" and thout that means he would fit no matter what

red needed to get a pg who can penetrate AND get assists...his offense requires players to be able to get their own shot...those types of players may be hard to find...but a lot of the schools SU has played this year have that kind of guard...it really was a possibility.

as far as the title of this thread - "needing more George"//// well i think more passing less driving is what is needed...hes also a pretty good shooter when he is open...but needs to stop taking off-balance shots
