I agree in general, game in / game out. But that wasn't an issue tonight--we came out with fire in our eyes. Had we knocked down some looks we've made for the most part all year, this would have been a blowout.

But make no mistake: our kids answered every time they needed to when Florida made runs. And that 's without having a good shooting performance from three.

yes tonight i thought we stepped it up a notch, i was impressed with the defense and intensity, but a few really bad calls by the refs and some deeeeeep 3's kept them in the game. whats up with the ref calling a foul on fab from halfcourt when he blocked the ball :crazy:

Melo was so key...

When Fab stepped up with Triche and KJo to back him we were a different story.
Thats what Scoop needs that next guy to step up for us to start off well.

Scoop was up against smaller guards today and EMU. Hes doing a wonderfull job without a high post threat. That was my biggest criticism with him this offseason. He has always been money shooting from around the foul line and in.

Back in 09-10 and last year Scoop needed that high post threat. To think we were shooting poorly from outside and he still brought it tonight is awesome!

Dion and Triche were making a nice long two combo off the dribble in the first half. That bodes well for us when our outside shots aren't falling.

That was an awful, awful call--especially for a ref out of position to try to make that call.

This win was all the more encouraging because we didn't shoot very well (though our misses were mainly good misses), Florida hit some very difficult shots, and the officiating was dreadful and one-sided.

We played good defense and hit a couple flukey shots. Other than that, luck was not on our side. And we still beat a good team.
