Yes, this season has sucked, there are no two ways about it. But the opportunity to beat two of our historical rivals (Pitt and BC) is important. Psychologically, for both the players and fans, the difference between going into the off-season 3-9, or 5-7 coming off two rivalry wins is huge.

That's one of the great things about college football, in most other sports (NBA, NHL, MLB) regular season games are just a monotonous means to an end, but in CFB they matter in and of themselves.
 
I agree. If you aren't in the national championship game no one truly remembers what you did at the end of the year anyways after a couple seasons. Get the young guys as much play as possible, and treat the last 2 games as our bowl practices we arent getting. Just don't waste any redshirts.
 
BC has already clinched bowl eligibility (thanks to an OOC schedule that included UMass, Colorado State, and Maine), but it would be sweet if we could help deny the Panther's a post-season invite.

yup winning these 2 games would realistically make me feel way better than the collapse a few years back with marrone
