Losing the Tank could hurt this team

Trudo is a mechanical engineering major and he's on the honor roll?! I was an engineering major for about a month. Tough major.
So, he's bright as hell and he's a great lineman. I'm glad he's on our side.

That has been the toughest thing to find on the O-line over the last decade, let's hope we get more of these types

From what I've read, Knapp plays with a similar edge to his game. He is a very competitive kid.

With regards to Dave R's article on Special Teams, I'm reminded that Marrone took some heat on this board for "wasting" scholarships on a KO specialist (Norton) and long snapper (Rodgers). But as the article points out, both have performed superbly and have made key (though often overlooked) contributions to our success this year.

Not surprisingly, there are typos/errors in the Trudo article. I sent them an email about it yesterday but they're apparently not manning their station (yes, I realize this is the holiday season, but someone was around to post the articles) or don't care. This is nothing new, of course. It's embarrassing for a school with a highly regarded journalism program.

I think the big news in that cache of articles OE posted is that the WVU center, a senior who had started 50 games, will not play in the Pinstripe. This is a huge loss for WVU, who has struggled to handle Scott Shafer's blitzes in the DM era. The center calls out the blocking assignments...bringing in a new one now is going to make things really hard on Geno Smith, who also has struggled trying to read and handle the SU blitzing schemes.

Big break for Syracuse. Shafer must be licking his chops now...

Yup, it just has SU defensive opportunities written all over it. He's a key guy to lose just like defensive tackle Sheldon Williams was when we faced Mizzo.
