Week 0-3 Kickoff Times Announced

When this game was first announced, I was hoping we would be in either the Sunday or Monday primetime slot so all eyes would be on our game. Saturday at Noon is probably the worst case scenario, but oh well. It will still be a very exciting event.

No this is not old news. For ratings sake, I think we probably would not want to go up against Texas vs Ohio State on FOX. Though a noon slot on ABC for the first real Saturday of the season not Week 0, is pretty cool, especially with a W!

Awesome. Prepare to be seriously underwhelmed by the campus itself, but pretty damn impressed by the stadium environment/history, TD Jesus, the grotto etc.

But for god sake, don’t do what me and my crew did the first time we were there and make the mistake of trying to sneak in some airplane size bottles of liquor to warm the cockles of your heart on a likely cold day in November!

So after some serious schmoozing with Captain Bligh there, they did let me stay, but man they watch the away team fans like hawks fyi

I was there. This was real and it was spectacular.

I was also at the throw snowballs at Charlie Weis game (the ND fans, not us). And that was also spectacular.

Agreed. I expect us to have roughly a 5-to-1 crowd disadvantage, so a relatively sleepy crowd could be helpful.

As a Vegas resident, these noon kickoffs are always bad news. To either stay home and watch the game on TV (at 9am) or to travel to and watch in-person, is not ideal. For the cost of these Tennessee tickets, I really thought the game would be a primetime event.

If only there were establishments in your town where drinking at 9 am and watching sporting events was considered normal behavior.

Ha... I either watch at home or attend it, but for 9am games I save the money and stay home! Getting to a dystopian Vegas tourist location by 9am to drink alcohol and watch a Cuse game would never happen lol.

Yeah that guy in the pic holding our tickets was a total pr!ck. No warning nothing, totally high on his “power”.

Game just started, we were not unruly, I was respectful, nowhere near drunk next thing you know I got the hand on the shoulder. Dude Did not want to hear anything, so I insisted that he take us to his top superior or a cop, which was Captain Bligh there.

He at least listened and was somewhat cool and obviously cool enough to listen to my song and dance and finally let us stay after complete confiscation of all of our mini bottles.

We kind of got our revenge at the start of the second quarter with our “hey hey” game is over chant when we were up 3-0.

Beating them there in the ugliest game I’ve ever seen years later was a thing of beauty getting a measure of revenge for that and 1961 stealing of that game, gloriously watching the meltdown as they pelted their own players with snowballs! Ahhh the memories/history…..

...Or the outright theft of the 1956 Heisman Trophy by ND's QB that led his team to a 2-8 record. Don't even get me going about the 1987 injustice!

Since I dropped YTTV and didn’t pick any similar streaming service to replace it. Do I need to subscribe to YTTV or fubu to watch this. I do have espn, Hulu (not Hulu tv) Apple, Amazon - you name it. Anyone know or remember from last year?

If you have ESPN and login credentials you should be able to login into the ESPN app and get the ABC feed through ESPN3 on the app.

Can't you just stick an antenna on the TV and pick up the local NBC or ABC station?

Not where I live. I’m in a valley surrounded by other valleys. I’m at the tail end of the Catskills. Even a decent antenna picks up almost nothing and not consistently. I’m 40 mins from Albany and can’t get any channels. I can sometimes get something from Utica which is 1.5 hrs away.

I’m always confused what is going to show on the ESPN app and what isn’t. I’ll log in sometimes expecting to watch something (not even SU related) and find out that’s not part of ESPN3. It’ll be clearer closer to the game. If I have to I’ll do fubu for 7 day trial and cancel.

ND used to strictly enforce alcohol consumption in the stadium.

It also used to use the Indiana Excise Police to try to limit underage drinking at tailgates.

It used to also hate prime time home games because the crowd became "too rowdy" after tailgating all day.

Now, ND will sell alcohol at games and has three home prime time games in 2025.

There is a entirely new regime at ND. A new president, a new AD and new head coach.

They have a changed attitude towards home game kickoff times, crowds and alcohol.
