Week 14 ACC/FBS Games for Nov 26-30

Joe Tessitore with the automatic invite to UGA into the CFP. Weird. Sure, they're highly likely to be in but if they get blown out next week in the SEC CG and end the season with three losses it would at least be a discussion. But JT didn't even qualify it. They're in no matter what happens tomorrow and next weekend. He and Palmer are my least favorite CFB broadcast duo. So many better ones out there.

To be fair, they have wins against two likely CFP teams and a third win against the team who is one spot away or so from the CFP. Best resume in the country.

As llandz said, “it comes down to which team wants it more” is probably the most ridiculous cliche in sports.

Well, some of that is my embellishment.

I’m looking at you Jesse Palmer.

I was hoping that Tech would have gone to the same spread set that they did before and run a different play out of it. Great game by them one snap away from winning Kings holds onto the ball the game is over.

ABC/ESPN is the SEC Network

I’ll never understand these meathead coaches that don’t go for 2 when you are the underdog.
based on their inability to convert them, probably not a bad decision. that was pathetic.

GaT should have gone for 2 after their TD in the first OT. But their head coach didn't know they'd have to go for 2 after a TD in the 2nd OT. The longer it went the more it favored Georgia. Should have attempted to decide in the first OT, win or lose.
or just not give up a 14 point lead with a few minutes left. that would have been the easiest route.

Tessitore had to repeat that statement more than the number of OTs. He's an SEC drone.

I am just sick for Ga Tech. In the first quarter I had the uneasy feeling that they were leaving too many points on the board.

Went to bed 3rd quarter, Woke up, watched the highlights, came here to say this.

At least 10 pts off the board in the 1st quarter for GT. This game looked over.

Reminder. No score is safe! We're up against one of those teams today.

Exactly. The reductionist "Go for 2!" cries leave out a ton of in-game context, matchups and personnel, etc.

Remember the hypothetical was if they get blown out in the SEC CG that would be three losses plus life and death struggles against unranked UK and GT. Yeah highly likely they get in but not the stone cold 100% absolute lock that Tessitore made it out to be. And if they get in under that scenario then they should be playing a road game for sure.

I get that Joe T is an annoying shill but they are getting in no matter happens next week as they should. They certainly should go on the road if they get smacked around in their title game, no doubt

Nothing is really a certainty, but yeah they are about as locked in as you can get.Playoff predictor has them at 98% even with a loss in their championship game.

Even if they lose a one point nail biter next week they should go on the road. I'm not an ACC homer, far from it, and the SEC is clearly the deepest league out there but no three loss team should host a playoff game. Too many shaky performances by UGA to warrant that privilege. They looked pretty damn ordinary last night though they deserve credit for the comeback.

Although still likely to get in, a loss next week by UGA would move that playoff predictor below 98%. Certainly below Tessitore's 100%.
