Week 8 Depth Chart / Injuries

@MinkNate: Some changes to the depth chart: Jason Emerich starting at center, backed up by Donnie Foster

@MinkNate: Ashton Broyld, Eric Crume, Brisly Estime and Austin Wilson are not listed on the two-deep, fwiw

Need one of these guys to suit up Saturday. Broyld was supposed to be close to returning for a few weeks now, surprised theres zero movement there.

It was sounding like Crume was going to be back. Would like to have him to help ensure Wake's rushing offense doesn't get some boost of confidence. I mean it's hard to be that bad for that long.

Isn't it nice that the most interesting thing to wait for during the week is the Injury Report instead of the Uniform Combination?

Wait...

This program can't seem to catch a break. Even at full strength, the schedule's brutal. But now, we're playing without our:
- starting QB;
- 2 best receivers;
- starting center;
- starting NT ..., etc.

it's unbelievable that we played as well as we did against -St. Probably the best game we've played all year.

Shows the depth has finally been developed. Now to continue to load this team with good talent year after year and we may be on to something here when injuries hurt but the next guy up keeps things even or maybe even wows us.

Disappointed to see that Crume's out. Ditto for Miller, who's been good since the second game. And we could use Wayne Morgan.

Am I nuts, or are Broyld and Estime two of the most expendable injured players on the team? There hasn't been a noticeable drop-off in play from their backups. It's the other guys who we need to get healthy.

Thanks Frozen.

If SU can get away with resting these guys another week and beat Wake, that would be very nice. Next man up go out and win this thing.

We need them this week.

Might as well rest them for Clemson as well:

Absolutely...I was just saying what I hoped for to happen and the next guy up kicks some demon ass.

Long and Ishmael have really shown up big, and not a moment too soon. Our receiving corps needed a spark, and Ishmael provided it. Long is going to have growing pains, but if he has the moxie to play that well against the #1 BCS team, he can play against WF and Dook. When the hell are we getting Estime and Broyld back so he has some targets out there?

Having a QB that can make plays sure opens things up for the running game, doesn't it?

Wilson being out probably means that Long isn't going to be allowed to run the ball much. That would be unfortunate if it's the case. Shafer said Kimble has shown "marked" improvement in practice. So maybe they're not as worried, but still, only 2 available QBs, then we go to the punter.

At most positional units, but not all.

We're getting there, just not QUITE over the hump...

I don't think you're nuts.I agree with all of this..

I don't agree--at all--about Estime. Kid has been hurt since the beginning of the season. If he can return healthy, he's going to be a big factor in the passing game. But if he's physically diminished [as he was the first few games], he is pretty average.

Would be nice to add another speedy weapon into AJ Long's aresenal for the stretch run.

The more positive way to put that is that Ishmael & Phillips were the two best recruits in the 2014 class (best H.S. stats by far) and have stepped up with Broyld and Estime out.

But we have big issues at CB and maybe at C.
