But one thing I don't really understand is I mean. What's wrong with the celebrities? I mean, I thought that was kinda cool. Because all that does Was bring plublicity to the basketball
Other than that, I don't really care about the subject. But Everyone seems to have an opinion on the subject.

Can’t imagine the cost to Syracuse U of security at every game just to have those celebrities

Of course there is. Adam has done and continues to do a lot to help multiple charities and organizations in CNY. He did a lot to support Syracuse University athletes. He has a focus on social media. Many dont understand that space. Some do including Elon , Trump, and many other businesses, individuals, brands...
Syracuse University primarily the Chancellor took exception with Adam's use of NIL in combination with social media and celebrity exposure which resulted in Adam deciding to no longer support Syracuse NIL efforts.
Personally i see both sides and just wish that it could have been worked out and handled better.

It’s not jealousy. It wasn’t working for the university. With his help we have had some of the worst ranked classes in memory. Without his help we are working towards a top 5 class. At the end of the day the school does what’s best for the school not what’s best for a billionaire looking to grow his social media presence

with his help we retained some pretty important players. NIL is paid to the recipient for the use of their name image and likeness to promote things. What Adam did to promote his social media account is what many are doing today. Think of it as a product or service it's no different.

I honestly don’t know what’s more delusional, the idea that our billionaire mega donor was a PROBLEM for recruiting or the idea that we’re about to have a class on the level of an Alabama or Ohio State.

I personally could care less if there are celebrities court side or not. I just want a good basketball team to watch and cheer for. Not the garbage we’ve been subjected to for a while now.

Yes, he is a true god amongst men. Without him the city would be in shambles, or something…

In the real world though, no one disliked the celebrities coming to the game, there was just a relatively large group who questioned the prevailing narrative (pushed by his, for whatever reason, ardent supporters) that having people like universally disliked (at least in upstate New York, go bills) Patriots star QB and Star TE courtside for a Syracuse game was going to sway top recruits.

My understanding is that the university provides security and bills Adam. Adam says that he pays immediately. If the university was smart, they’d mark up the service and make money.

Eh, that’s not fair nor correct. Which classes are you speaking of? He just got into the NIL recruiting game last fall, which lasted 7 months, and his focus was more on the ‘24 class. So he had no impact on prior classes that you term as some of the worst in history. He was more focused initially, as was the SU AD, on retention. He used $1m of his own money to give NIL to about a dozen athletes across mbball, wbball, and football.
