Welcome Back GMac Event / Presser

Next couple of weeks are going to be very interesting...

- Staff he mentioned a bunch of different options. Old with experience, familiar faces, and outside the family.

- Players - Hopefully, we can get a few star top-shelf players in here to support the players we already have. I think that will be the most important. Can he adapt his recruiting to the level needed for the ACC? He mentioned multiple times it is a different scale now. So I will be extremely interested in seeing how that translates to player recruiting in the portal now that we are funded very well.

am I seeing things but did the ACC network just put up a picture of someone other than GMac for the 2003 championship? Who was that?

Better memories from the script era, no?
Script from the late 80s for sure. Amazing childhood memories.

I loved the 2000s Cuse gear though

I can’t wait. I think we need an infusion of things to talk about on the basketball board. Staff, player retention, portal recruiting…so close yet still feels far away.

White, Kingz and Kiyan are more than enough from last yr’s team. Overpaying to keep Donnie would put us in a hole

I get confused, and I guess I'm just taking this opportunity to say it. Maybe you've been consistent, don't know.

But so often I've read on this board that we had enough talent this year, it was just the coaching.

Now that we're in the offseason, seems like everyone wants all those players gone.

Is the story now that Red tainted them so badly that they can't be saved?

Awesome press conference and I mean no disrespect to Red but holy cow what a difference. Gerry is the right guy right now and has clearly grown the past couple years...there's a fire there and professionalism that was just fantastic. He will connect with the young generation of kids. Excited to see how the staff looks. I did hear something a few days ago that mentioned devo being brought on. I know its been mentioned but found it interesting that he was there. Home run all the way around and Blair is impressive! LGO!!!

Jake said that’s never happening. I assume he meant Hak

Is Hak a possibility for joining his staff? Haven't seen that mentioned on here recently unless I missed it.
Has Hak been a coach at any level anywhere?

I mean, I love Hak to death, but I'm not sure I want someone cutting their teeth in coaching starting at the P4 level.

I am so glad I attended this event! I got there at 3:15 and already people were standing 4-5 deep. I did NOT want to stand. But I ran into a guy I know and he took me down to see his parents who were in the third row audience right. At that exact moment, two girls sitting in the first row got up and left, telling me I could have the seats. Sometimes I am pretty sure I have angels around me. So my daughter and I sat in the front row and right by the corridor where Gerry, his family, and other “celebrities” walked down.

The place was ELECTRIC! And Gerry was very emotional, especially when talking about his wife and all he has put her through. I like that he is emotional, that he has a soft heart. At the same time, he is tough. He expects to win the first season.

I am so happy we made this choice. In retrospect, it seems obvious. Now - “all” he has to do is produce. Ulp!
