Well, that was ugly...

Does it bother you that you "hate" or "can't stand" 19 and 20 year olds? They are just kids. Do you hate any of your friends' kids who are that age?
So it's OK for you to call posters who don't like Craft - reverse racists, but someone who uses the word hate on a sports forum (OMG someone on a forum uses standard hyperbole about someone from another team who virtually everyone finds his play to be annoying!). Got it.

If you don't feel that marginal white athletes (by NBA standards) are singled out for hatred, I have a bridge to sell you.

One of the biggest choke jobs I've ever seen. Just wow.Threw away 2 consecutive in bounds passes for quick OSU lay ups. Foul a 3 pt shooter. Out of control drives by Grant. Missed FT's. All in 50 seconds.

Ugh, watching that game me flashbacks of the Paul Harris Pitt Dome Debacle a few years back...

Seemed like OSU did whatever they wanted to in the last minute. Whack, whack, whack...
There were two indictable muggings in the last minute, one against 23 for ND then Grant right after the basket, and nary a whistle. A swarm-run like that always has 1-2 questionable calls that helps the team on the run. I honestly believe the officials get caught up in the moment .

I think of that everytime I see TE pick someones pocket after a SU basket. We are going to be on the plus side of the "Paul Harris" moments quite a few time this year.

In there somewhere facilitating it were the refs choking on their whistles, but boy, Connaughton really made 2 super bonehead plays, that hurt as much as any other plays.

Craft is by all accounts a terrific kid. Excellent student. Never been in trouble with the law. Allegedly very family/girlfriend oriented. Gives 100%. Has the beloved military angle. The hatred has to be a function of the reverse racism that inevitably occurs with white players who don't have Rex Chapman/Bobby Sura athleticism. The notion that they hate him b/c he gets away with fouls is a subconscious smokescreen for the jealous.
Did you ever think that the admirable traits you list might be exactly why some hate him. Too "squeeky clean", has the fresh-faced looks too to go with it. Today's world loves the anti-hero.

...where the treetops glisten, and children listen, to hear sleigh bells in the snow...

Craft simply plays like a maniac constantly going over the rules line and getting away with it.
OK, don't dislike the person, dislike the fact he has to know he's violating the rules and getting away with it.

Holy over generalizations.

I must have missed all of the "inevitable" anti-Nowitzki, Love and Bird sentiment in the sports world.

Game reminded me of our collapse against BC in the opening round of the BET in 81-82. Up 8 with less than 2 minutes to go BC scored 10 unanswered points to take the game. Notre Dame one upped us because I think they waited longer to start their collapse. Of course our collapse occurred in the days before the 3 point shot and with no shot clock limiting our possession.

i absolutely agree with you.

but the bold above is another case of a kid wasting his college years. FYI he is supposedly now engaged.

the "too squeeky clean fresh faced looks" always happens to be a white guy who tries hard though.

I am just as guilty of hating the same players for that exact reason... but poppy has a point.

lol... he is incredible with his hands. he doesnt 'cheat'.

that last call where he stripped grant was without a doubt a clean play and off of grant.

Haha...

Or maybe I'm a "reverse racist".

i was watching with an osu fan and rooting hard for ND but i totally disagree with this statement.

ND choked the game away. i dont think the refs were bad at all the last minute.

If anything, i think they were whistle happy when the freshman got fouled (and if they didnt blow the whistle, he literally gave the ball right back to OSU - would have prob led to an easy bucket).
