It's incredible that a state spends taxpayer money on something like this.
It's incredible that a state spends taxpayer money on something like this.
Some of us recall the days when players were treated as if they really were students and actually lived in dorms with regular kids.
And to think poor Shabazz Napier couldn't even find enough food to eat at Uconn...
I'm not too surprised when you realize that the top paid state employee in something like 30 out of 50 states is either a basketball coach or football coach. At the risk of politicizing things... it's pretty clear where this country's priorities lie. It's incredible that a state spends taxpayer money on something like this.

Considering the "students" bring in this money I have zero problem with them having this perk or any while they're on campus. They've earned at least that.
Unless the rules have changed, I believe that a certain percentage of residents in the dorm must be non-athletes.
Gee, I wonder if the "lucky Kansas students" might be related to the private donors? There are some non-athletes. From the article "The dorm was funded using private donations and is home to not only the men's basketball team, but 17 very lucky Kansas students not affiliated with the program."
What if it's just a scratch-off ticket?If I win the lottery, I'll donate a cool $15M for a sweet bball dorm.
