Besides the NBA and the G League, there are over 100 countries with professional basketball leagues paying anywhere from 60K to 500k, or more in China. Most pay the players taxes, some provide apartments and cars. Not a bad life for a young man or woman, that doesn’t preclude possibly having an opportunity to return

Agreed. Yeah, the nba is the ultimate summit of basketball, but it’s amazing how many leagues exist. Are some better than others? Obviously. People act like just because you’re not in the nba that you haven’t succeeded. I say again... making even *just* $100k/yr is so much more than 99% of other 20 year olds. To play basketball. And so many of these guys get to experience such unique places around the globe (well, in normal times).

And no it’s not common, but it’s always possible to work your way into the nba eventually.
