In 2010, those same experts had Kansas winning the NC and this happened in the 2nd round.

No issue!! We got this. Syracuse went 6-9 away from the dome this season. But Headmaster9 & I went 6-0 on the road. We have every intention of continuing the streak.

I would have liked the OP, but dont want folks to think I necessarily agree with the thread title, if it isn't sarcastic. Ive been arguing that UVA robbed MSU of a one seed, so of course thats the 2 seed in our bracket. That said, if SU can find their "on switch" long enough on that one day, that momentum could change them inside and propel them to a magical run. Maybe the Cuse gets lucky and MSU isnt in final 4 form for the 2nd round game for some reason? Maybe the basketball gods make up for the last time Cuse faced the B1G in the tournament?

Although it's unlikely, this team is capable of of beating any team in this field on any given day, even if they might lose 8 or 9 out of 10 against that team. I'm not comparing this team to the one that beat Indiana(tournament, not stripper game), but it would be that type of feeling for me if they could do it. It's about time SU gets hot and starts draining long threes and some guy who averages 4 or 6 throws up 24 points, like teams tend to do against us...right? Things like that can and do happen, and we might need something like that, along with the D from the Indiana game, to win. LGO!!

Edit: of course I'm hoping we get by Dayton first and can actually have the opportunity to take down Sparty!

This almost guarantees our victory in my mind. This year of all years, there are no dominant teams. There will be more upsets this year than ever I think. No team is worthy of "30 out of 31."

There will be 3 upsets in the first round that would be the equivalent of us beating MSU if we get there. It would be a decent upset, but nothing monumental.

Yes! I was in Buffalo crushing some Duffs wings when that happened. Hard to believe that was 6 years ago.

Getting in was the most important thing. And being a low seed, we were bound to play a much higher seed in the second round.

But first we have to get past our first round opponent. I'll worry about MSU when the time is right.

Beating the spartans would take a herculean effort, but you can't win if you aren't in the game. Once you're there, anything can happen.

Although I picked MSU to win it all I could see Virginia beating them too if they get that far. UVA will probably have 2 tough games they'll have to win to get there.

Sparty is a tough matchup for us no doubt. But most of their success I see is on the high pick and roll and big guys strolling down the lane. When that big guy isnt Valentine they're going to find someone waiting for them. Valentine will likely be able to beat that and/or kick out to one of Sparty's very proficient 3 pt shooters. But its not impossible. They still have to make their shots. Thats what itll come down to...who makes their shots because we will get enough looks to make it happen.
