As much as college football is ingrained in the culture in the Southeast, a part of it is because of the event it has become. You know 6 Saturday's every Fall there is going to be a gigantic party with a ton of energy, and who doesn't like a reason to bring the kids, have a bunch of drinks, and eat some great food. Oh ya, and watch some good Football after.
the dome walk/parking is easier than the state fair walk/parking and that seems to get crowdsFor example - every time I mention going to a game with my wife and kids - she brings up parking/walking (we have a 6 and 3 yr old).
This is not easily fixed - but it's a friction that makes it harder.

Park at Skytop and take the bus right to the Quad. There are a lot of give-aways there, Dino's bbq, the band plays and there are those inflatable jumpy things for the kids.Wasn't the point. I think it's fairly easy and worth it too - but convincing the wife? Not so easy - it should be easier to say "let's spend 1/2 day there" than it is.
The main point was remove the friction. We like fan fest in August because it's family friendly, easy parking, etc.

I don't know if they market it. I live in suburban Philly so I miss a lot of the local promos. They call it Quad Fest and it starts 2 hours prior to game time. A lot of the little kids like to watch the band perform on the Hendricks Chapel steps with the Orange Girl, flag twirlers. Drum line puts on a good show.Yeah - we've taken the bus before. Missed all the other stuff somehow.
Also - do they market any of that in any way?
wins---i think the hoffmans are just fine---would like to see a very different quad show by the su band they play the same stuff year in and outYou know what I really want at Cuse games? Variety.
I love Syracuse football. But the games are the same intros, the same ads, the same promotions, the same mediocre pep band songs, the same bad food, etc., etc., etc.
