What I Want To See Saturday

Henderson LOVES Shu. If he wasn't hurt all last year he might have got time at safety when Marko and Phil were down at the end of the year.

I'm stoked about the group of young safeties we have. This will be a team strength for at least the next 4 years. Eskridge, Mungwa, Dontez Ford and Whigham will all be freshman or redshirt freshman this year. All seem like fantastic prospects. That doesn't even factor in Desir who could be very good if he gains some weight.

I want to see how this team handles the throngs of fans and intense spotlight of the local media. I hope it's not overwhelming.

I'd love to hear the OL was opening some holes and that we are making the attempt to stretch the field vertically. Those two things would make me very happy.

What's the point in attempting to stretch the field vertically if its an automatic waste of a down?

I'm not talking about 40 yards downfield, per se. Nassib is solid in that 15-20 yard range -- or at least adequate. We need more of that and, frankly, I"m more concerned with that than with the 40+yarders.

I want to see Ashton Broyld throw the ball.
I want to see Ashton Broyld run the ball.
I want to see Ashton Broyld catch the ball.
I want to see Ashton Broyld kick the ball.
I want to see Ashton Broyld block.
I want to see Ashton Broyld tackle.
I want to see Ashton Broyld coach special teams.
I want to see Ashton Broyld bartending at Club 44 after the game.
I want to see Ashton Broyld win every faceoff in the lacrosse game afterwards.

I got a sneak peak of one practice last week during a senior class giving event in Club 44 last week (I would've paid more attention but...open bar) and the O-Line looked pretty good. Rene, PTG and Broyld all busted up holes through the middle while I was watching.

i believe given the approach up to now, very little will be seen. i cannot attend but am curious for reports on hcdm demeanor in interaction with players and coaches. just a stupid question here, do opponents scout spring games? this team will be a nuclear secret until the first game---works for me if we can win

I will bet that the reason the SU spring game is not being televised is because DM does not want that film made available to other BE teams. That being said, I agree that little new will be shown. I expect the most vanilla, straightforward generic offenses and defenses on display.

I love SU football and love watching the team play. Especially when they are trying to do exciting things on offense and defense. Getting shut out of spring practice hurts. Watching the practices and seeing players develop was really fun.

If the shutdown on open practices in the spring/enduring another boring and awful spring game is the price that needs to be paid in order to change our scheme on offense, I am all in.

Braced for the worst and hoping for the best. In other words, I am a Syracuse football fan.

i am not sure that i can take another year such as last. been down this road too many times. watching ben s. disappear when given no support, watching maloney struggle,(although i don't think he was given enough time) the dui did him in,in today"s climate it would be a minor infraction. grob disaster, pinstripe was a ray of hope--great day in nyc---hope dashed somewhat last year---which i personally feel was marrone's intractability and allusiveness from the team. still can't get over the 4th and inches with ru.--oh well --still hanging tough this year--need to see something, anything positive facility, wins --give me somethin.

I want to see good blocking, tackling...passes on target to receivers short, medium and long...RB's or Wr's running/catching the ball and breaking a tackle and outrunning a fast defensive back for a td.

I expect a vanilla type game but I want to see talent/speed being displayed and I don't care who shows it as long as I see it.

I couldn't care less about Marrones demeanor as long as the team knows what they are doing and can execute.

I want to see this team get a first down on 3rd and 2 and 3rd and 1 which I firmly believe Smith will be able to do and hopefully Moore when he's healthy.
