What is the one team/school you would NEVER root for?

Texas above all others. My hatred for UT is second only to my hatred for the Cowboys.

So I guess it's a good thing I live near Dallas and married into a family that worships UT, and my wife's uncle played linebacker on a championship team in the 60's.

The battle for my son's fandom begins.

Rutgers, Rutgers, Rutgers

At least fans of the other schools have good reason to arrogant - they have historically been good.

As for Texas, I did root for them when Vince Young took on USC for the National Championship. The final touchdown run was classic.

Ohio State (my daughter went to Michigan), Wisconsin (I don't get it), South Carolina (Spurrier), UConn (although it's harder now that ol' explodin' redface is gone in BBall and I like Paul but I hate what happened after he left the program). Lastly, what is it with Rutgers? They were like... Brown... when I was growing up. They have NEVER been a major presence. Why the hate?

I have already told my children, 5 & 7, that they may not attend Virginia Tech. That whole, "Mr. Governor, they won't let us into their sandbox" thing.

Yep...the '03 ACC debacle, especially where VPI is concerned, for me, elevated a whole new meaning for that four letter word.

And my wife is an Ohio State grad--so after that debacle last NCAA tournament, they've earned my eternal hatred as well.

It took until last year for OSU to make your list? Frankly, I'm shocked!

Of these schools, which would you not root for? Basically you would root for one of the others on list over the school you picked.

- Notre Dame
- Texas
- Ohio State
- UConn
- Rutgers
- USC
- Auburn
- Alabama
- Florida St
- Miami
- Florida
- Penn St.
- Virginia Tech

For me, it would be Alabama.
Notre Dame, but never say never.

VTech, Bama, Ohio State, Ped State, BC, OK, and USC. What is the unifying factor among all of them = arsewipe fans

Well...let's just say that being in NEO around the Cult of OSU was an unpleasant experience for me. A's family all went to OSU, so in general I tried to feign support, while secretly delighting when they lost most of the time.

But after this March, I am no longer pretending. I am 100% overtly OSU--which makes for a divided household as we both seek to brainwash our two year old!

Have a great weekend, TN!

If Toga says Hamilton then I say Union.

In real college athletics Notre Dame. No contest. Everything about them from that damn leprechaun to the cult like following. And of course Georgetown. But I think that's a given.

Completely worthless thread. Any thread featuring "Syracuse" and "hate" that doesnt feature Georgetown is fatally flawed at its inception.

Also, Penn State ;)

My quick reaction is Virginia Tech. For the most part I hate them more than any other team. However, I root against all SEC teams in OOC play right now. Their recent dominance combined with my current residence makes me hate the whole conference.

VT

Just don't like anything about them. Can't explain it
Maybe it's all of the recognition from the national media they got for great special teams (Beamer ball:blah: ) during the 90's when ours went unnoticed and were just as good. For me it was topped off when Vick flipped and went there, initiating our decline.

ND without hesitation.

If they played those other teams, I'd hope for a miserable game where no offense worked and multiple players got hurt thus resulting in coaches getting fired, fans leaving, programs sinking, etc.

Gotta hate UCONN & Rutgers for weaseling their way into our recruiting territory when everything went down at the 'CUSE. If they had not moved in like sniveling little snakes, we would have been able to sustain some bad coaching & had a mediocre stretch, instead of that "thing" we called a program...

Miami prompts an automatic "hate" algorithm in the college football computers all over America. No explanation is necessary.

VTech - This is another program that came out of nowhere to surprise the college football world, albeit less pronounced than the Hurricanes...

Regardless, they all suck, & should rot in the fires of a West Virginia couch...
